Chapter 17

(Time skip to the Monday)

Diannes pov
Today is the day I start chemo and I am slightly worried but I know I just have to fight and I will get through this.

Joe was being amazing he was carrying me everywhere and getting me things but it was getting frustrating because I am a very independent person and like to do things for myself but I just physically can't

We got to the car and joe lifted me in as usual and we set off most of the way there we sat in silence until joe asked
J: how are you feeling
*nervous but I'll be ok*
J: you will be just fine trust me
* I know your the best*

We got there and headed straight up to the ward where I'd be staying for a week for my first round of chemo. We got there and they signed us in and gave me a room to settle into

A few hours later the doctor came in to take me to the chemo room. It was a bright room with lots of windows and it had 4 chairs in 2 of them were filled and 1 was empty. I sat down in mine and they put my IV in and started the chemo drip. I sent joe off to go get himself some food and a coffee because I knew I would be here for a while and there is no point him just sat there for nothing.

I started talking to one of the other women also having chemo (well trying to communicate) she had lost her hair and was very skinny and pale.
Woman: hi what's your name
* sorry I can't speak but I'm dianne what's yours*
Woman: oh sorry my name is Edith, I'm guessing this is your first round of chemo then because you look way too normal to have head multiple rounds
* yeah this is my first day of it actually*
Edith: well you have all the bad things to look forward to then like the hair loss, the weight loss, the sickness, headaches, tiredness and everything else
* oh I can't wait*
Edith: what type do you have then?
* I have a lump next to my stomach that causes me to throw up constantly and it burnt the bottom of my osphogus so that's why I can't talk*
*what about you?*
Edith: I have leukaemia

Edith and I sat talking for a while until the nurse said I had done for the day and joe came back
