Chapter 1 ~ Banishment

She turned me down! Then banished me for her SISTER!

I growled as I paced this new prison cell.

Celestia will pay!

Lots of thoughts swarmed through my mind. I stop pacing to look around this new place. It's just a flat, boring ice cave. Lots of ice formations grow from the ground and roof.

I was doing fine until Luna was corrupted by something.

I thought bitterly.

Better explore and see where I'll be living for a while.

I thought as I start walk. The armor on my legs and hooves makes some noise as it hits the ice with each step. I see something move out the corner of my eye and whip my head around to look at it. I didn't see anything so I step closer. As I move, I notice there are shadows. And If there are shadows, then there is light. If there is light, then there is a place to get out. For the sun cannot reach down here through the ice. I try to ignore the shadows and continue to look for what had moved. The only thing I can see is my own shadow. I decide to give up on that and go in the opposite direction that the shadows are pointed in. I reach the spot that the light seems to be coming from. A sky light. The ice is just barely thin enough to let light in. "Stupid celestia" I snarl, my hatred for her clearly showing. I walk away from the light to wall of the cave that is the darkest. I lay down and wonder why an ice cave. I slowly fall asleep thinking about how I will get revenge on equestria.

***********50 years later*************

I wander around aimlessly. I think about how to escape yet again. I grow a black crystal let smack into the roof. I growl when I see that it didn't do much damage. I turn to shadow and start testing the walls. As I was about to start on the roof, a bright light blinded me. I return to pony form and hiss at the harsh light. It is soon gone and I open my eyes to see if I can spot what made the light. It is always rather dark in here, so a light that bright really burns my eyes. Most ponies can easily see in that light. Unlike me, who can almost see better in the dark than broad daylight. What do you expect? A pony who can turn into a shadow enjoy a ton of sudden light? "It was probably Celestia again." I growl to myself, not bothering to be quiet about it either. Celestia seems to just apear in a bright ball of light and make sure the walls and roof are still extremely strong. I don't hear her calling out to me and begin to walk towards where the light had been. My hoofsteps echo around the room, as usual. "Who's there?" A slightly familiar voice calls out. I ignore the voice and continue walking. I decide to give the pony a scare and turn to shadow. I creep up behind the pony. A mare who is dark blue body and a few shades lighter blue. Her wings and horn are just as dark as her body. I can't see her cutiemark because I am directly behind here. I return to normal form and just stand there, waiting for her to notice me. It seems like she spots me and whips around. "Who are you and what am I doing here?" She asked. "For starters, you are in my world of being banished to the icy north by Celestia. And I will not tell you my name unless you tell me yours. If you managed to get in here, then you should be able to know who I am." I said. The mare glared at me. "Nightmare Moon." Nightmare Moon says. "Okay Nightmare Moon. I am King Sombra. Now tell me why you are here and how you got here." I say with a voice full of authority. "Fine. Banished to the moon by Celestia. I found a portal to some world and after a little while, found another portal and it lead here. And I am here because I wanted to see where the portal went." Nightmare Moon says. I see another bright flash. "Hide yourself. That is Celestia." I said demandingly. She turns into this thing that looks like her mane and goes to hide. "Sombra!" Celestia yells. I growl. She refuses to say King Sombra and I refuse to say Princess Celestia. I step away from where Nightmare Moon had been. "Sombra!" Celestia yelled again. "What!" I yell back at her. I don't really need to yell though. I just yelled at her because I felt like it. I walk towards her. I spot her under the sky light. I walk forward, but stay in the shadows. I will not stand next to her willingly. "Sombra. I'm going to leave you here until you die. Renewing the spell that keeps you in here many times over. You took my sister from me." She said angrily. "Do tell me how." I said. "Ugh. Not long after we defeated you, she grew jealous." Celestia paused for a second. I grew angry at what she said. "She had been acting really different since you were banished here. I tried to reason with her, but you corrupted her." Celestia said. "I don not corrupt ponies. Most of all a so called 'princess'. And, why would I want a sister of you?" I seethed, my anger showing very much. I hadn't have had the need to hide emotions. Celestia grew angry at this. "Because you are an evil, twisted shadow that should return to being a shadow on the wall permanently!" Celestia said. "Oh, and by the way, her new name is Nightmare Moon!" Celestia yelled an left in her bright flash thing. "Did that sorry excuse of a sister leave?" Nightmare Moon said not far behind me. "Yes." I growled, still angered from Celestia. "Find someplace to sleep in here. By the look of the light coming from the sky light, it is almost night." I said and walked to where I normally sleep. I lay down on the ice that has some crystal in it. I had made it by by carving into the wall and growing some crystal, then making that flat. The crystal was so I wouldn't freeze my tail off. I slowly fall into a dreamless sleep.

********Next morning*********

I awake to the sound of hooves. I thought it was my imagination again until I remember that Nightmare Moon is here. I groan slightly and stand up. I slowly walk out of the small overhang that I made. I look around to see if I can spot Nightmare Moon from here. I glance at the roof and make a large, sharp black crystal grow rather fast to the ceiling. It crashes into the ice and a shower of ice splinters fall down. It didn't get very far into the ice. I make the crystal disappear and begin to wander like I did the day before. Nightmare Moon spots me and comes over. "What did you do to be on Celestia's banishing list?" Nightmare asked. "I took the crystal empire from the current crystal pony that was elected to rule. I simply got rid of her and made them my slaves. Surprised that you don't remember sending me here." I said. I kinda was surprised. She was the one to send both me and the crystal empire into banishment, after all. "I did?" "Yes, your good side did." I said, kinda not wanting to talk very much. "What do you do?" "Wander, grow crystals, train to retake the crystal empire." I stated flatly. Nightmare flew above me. I walk over to one of the darkest parts of the cave and turn to shadow. I test the walls again. I could have sworn that they were weaker yesterday. I turn back to my pony form walk around, not knowing what to do. I get blinded by a bright light, the same light that made Nightmare Moon appear. "Follow me!" I hear her call and I follow her through the portal. It brings us to some sort of forest. "Where did go take me?" I ask with a slight growl. "A world where villains can live without the do-gooders bugging us. Your portal will always be there." She said. I nod slightly and make and crystal grow on both sides of the portal. The light it made disappeared as soon as we walked out of it. "This is where both of us can train to take over equestria and the crystal empire. Best part is, we fight each other." Nightmare said evilly. I grin evilly and prepare to fight her. We won't kill each other because that would be just plain stupid. We both want to take over different places, so why not help each other grow stronger?

*************250 years later***********

I am in my icy cave with Nightmare Moon. We had fallen in love and now we have a daughter. We named her Moon Shadow and she is an alicorn like Nightmare moon. Both of us had grown stronger. Celestia stopped coming and just stayed in her stuck up canterlot. Renewing the spell from there.

*******************800 years later********* Nightmare had manage to get out of banishment and went to fight Celestia. Haven't seen her since then. Oh well. I'm kinda assuming that Celestia won. Soon, I will be able to get out. Moon Shadow managed to leave with her mom. Now I am alone again.

*****Next week because I don't know what to make him do********

I see the sun shining right through the ice. I look at it and say "Soon, Celestia. Soon I will be free."
