Eli had been cleaning all night, his body shook each time he was forced to drag a boy back to their room. Luckily, he'd been too busy for any of the guards to pay any real notice to him. He hadn't seen Jordan yet, and he was extremely worried. He knew exactly what to do when they found each other. His body throbbed with pain as he scrubbed the table down, he has no idea how Duckie had done this. He was about to rinse out the rag when he heard him."Get the fuck off me!" Jordan bellowed.
Without thinking about the consequences Eli shot up, ignoring his worn-out body fighting against the act. He ran down the hall, following the sound of his cabin mate. There were three guards, two holding Jordan down and another trying to force a pill into his mouth. He was still wearing the clothes he had on yesterday, and Eli figured he had just woken up from the tasers he was subjected to. He didn't know what to do, but he knew he couldn't let them give Jordan that pill. With the wet rag still in his hand, he flung it in one guard's faces, he jumped on the back of another. Jordan shot right up when his arms were freed. He smashed a punch into the guard with the pill, and slammed another on the floor. He grabbed Eli wrist and ran as fast as he could.
"The basement, d-down the hall to the left." Eli stuttered, allowing Jordan to pull his exhausted body.
Eli had already picked the lock, they just needed to hide until their cabin mates figured out what to do. When they got passed the door, Eli immediately locked it. Hoping, the guards would think they'd ran past it. It was dark down the stairs, and a green light seemed to illuminate from the room. Both Jordan and Eli, looked at one another. They quietly made it down the stairs, Jordan standing in front of Eli. He was still groggy and had no idea why Eli was here.
"Is Red here?" He asked quietly.
"No, just me." Eli answered.
Jordan sighed a breath of relief, then felt bad because Eli had been here alone before he woke up.
"Did they... I mean, are you okay?" He asked tensely.
"Yes."
He breathed another sigh of relief. When they got to the bottom of the stairs, they walked around the corner, and immediately halted.
"You honestly believed it would be that easy, did you?" Dr Fields laughed.
He was sitting in a dental chair in the middle of the room, if Eli thought the Lab was bad, he'd been wrong. Si hadn't said anything about the basement. There were chemical and science experiments everywhere, the walls were lined with bottles of pills, sprays and even injectables. But the most shocking thing were the rows of cages, at least ten different boys were trapped in the larger cages, and all sorts of animals were in the others, from rats, ferrets and dogs. Clawing weakly at the bars, their eyes dilated and mouths frothy. Jordan's own eyes widened in disbelief at the sight or their on-site camp therapist.
"Shocked?" The doctor snickered.
Eli nodded numbly, noticing the gun in his hand pointing directly at them, silencer and all. The Doc moved the gun to the first cage, looking Eli in the eye as he pulled the trigger. He smiled when he heard the weak whimper before the boy in the cage lost his life, blood dripping steadily onto the floor.
"I can kill these boys; they don't belong here. Street rats, I've picked up for experiments." He grimaced.
"I just wanted you to know what'll happen to your precious Caleb," He looked at Jordan, "Or your Rory, if you disobey me again."
Eli's eyes were flooded with tears, as Jordan's grip on his shoulder began to tremble.
"Come here Eli." He demanded.
