interview with World Wide Dance Magazine, 2018

interviewer: So.. we're being told that there's a rumor you and one of your close friends, Gabe DeGuzman , are dating. Is there any truth to that?
kaycee: Oh wow, right into the juicy stuff haha. Yes, there's some truth to that. We'd like some privacy, though- I will say, he's one of the most genuine men I've ever met, though. And we've been incredibly close friends for years, so... yeah. There's that
interviewer: Cute! Well, I know I speak on behalf of all your fans when I say we're glad you're happy...

Something in the air that morning told Kaycee that today wasn't right- that something was off, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

She had a later rehearsal today, so she had practically all morning and most of the afternoon to lounge around and watch Netflix. Without much thinking, she shot Gabe a text, telling him to come over.

Things were still rocky with them, even after Kaycee apologized at lunch. However, something in the back of her head was telling her to text him and ask him to come over, just to be sure they were on the same page. Gabe is her boyfriend, anyway. It would be stupid to stay mad at each other over something so small.

When he agreed, she got to baking some brownies, eager to win him over. Maybe they'll soften the blow when I tell him I followed through with rehearsal, she hoped.

She should have known things would be going downhill soon when he arrived and brushed right past her, clearly in a bad mood. "Hello to you, too," she muttered, closing her door.

Taking a deep breath, she skipped into the kitchen, grabbing a couple brownies she had just taken out of the oven before he got there. "Hey, I made brownies!" She called into the living room, where he had plopped himself onto the couch.

"Cool." He shot back, clearly uninterested.

Whatever. She'd eat the brownies herself, she decided.

Entering the living room was like walking right into a blizzard, the mood icy before they had even started talking. She found that she'd much rather stay standing than sit next to him, so she did just that, leaning over the couch he wasn't on. "Is there a reason you're in a bad mood?"

"Yeah, there is"

She waits a moment to let him continue, but it's evident that he's not going to. He stares straight ahead, not making eye contact. "Alright. What happened?"

These words seem to knock him from his daze, because suddenly he's looking right at her, steam practically shooting out of his ears. "I don't know, Kaycee, why don't you tell me?"

Scrunching her eyebrows, she shakes her head. "I have no idea what you're on about right now"

"Oh, but you do." He says, and she notices his voice returning to the same one he used the morning after their first argument. "Why don't you tell me where you were yesterday?"

His statement makes her freeze. Well, so much for the brownies. Even though he seems angry, she tries to lighten the mood. "Why don't we eat some brownies first? They're triple fudge, and believe it or not I think-"

"Kaycee."

"Fine. Cool. If you want to argue now, let's do it." Kaycee states in exasperation, tossing her brownies onto the coffee table. "I went to rehearsal"
