"Umbrella?"
"Check!"
"Towels?"
"Check."
"Snacks!"
"-crunch- Wha- yeah? Check."

"Alright, gang!" Orange looked up from her checklist. "I assume you all have your swimsuits on?"

"If you can even consider this a swimsuit," Lemon mumbled in his shorts and short-sleeved jacket.

"We should be ready to go!" Lime decided, picking up her bags. "Off to the beach!"

The four all piled into a car that Orange manage to borrow for the next two days. Lemon and Lime battled for shotgun, while Grapefruit just simply sat in the back. In the end, Lemon slumped down next to Grapefruit, defeated.

"Where did you get this car from?" Grapefruit asked, marveling at the fancy new car.

"Oh, I have friends," Orange grinned, starting the engine.

The engine roared to life, and the four were off! During the ride, they drove past many spots of scenery and even a convenience stand. Grapefruit begged to get off and buy some snacks since she finished them all.

During the ride, Orange explained the agenda to the other three.

"So when we get there, we head straight for the beach," she laid out the plan. "We stay there for a couple hours, then we go to the beach house I rented! The next day, I really want to check out the seaside town nearby, and I'm sure you guys will enjoy it as well."

Finally, they reached their destination: the beach!

"Al-right!" Lime exclaimed as she threw open the door and jumped out her seat. She rushed over the cliff to see white sand and crashing waves. "This place looks awesome!"

"Wow, this beach will be great to play games on!" Orange noted, seeing that a bunch others were on the sand playing volleyball.

"Why do I have to carry this..." Lemon groaned as he approached the rest with a giant backpack and holding the umbrella and two lounge chairs in his hands.

"Shut up, nerd," Lime shot back without missing a beat. "You pulled the short stick."

"Come on, Lemon!" Grapefruit consoled him. "We're already here!"

Out on the sandy beach, Lemon set up their area, complete with an umbrella shading over the lounge chairs and towels on the ground. Finally, he dumped the backpack onto the ground near the umbrella, collapsed onto a lounge chair, and fell asleep.

"Lime and I are gonna play some volleyball, wanna join?" Orange asked Grapefruit.

Frowning, Grapefruit answered, "Thanks, but no thanks. I'll just join Lemon under the shade."

"Suit yourself!"

After Orange and Lime ran off, Grapefruit plopped down on the lounge chair next to Lemon and shook him awake.

"H-huh? What?" Lemon snorted as his eyes fluttered open.

"We gotta make a plan, dude."

"What plan?"

Grapefruit rolled her eyes.

"A date with Orange!" she exclaimed. "What else?"

"Oh. Oh right."

Scooting closer to him, Grapefruit whipped out her phone and showed Lemon a location on her map.

"Check this out. The town Orange was talking about has a couple five-star restaurants in there. You gotta take her to one."

"I see. But how do I invite her?"

"You are such a dork. Listen, just casually bring it up! She'll think it's cute and such!"

"Alright, I'll think about it..."

From ahead, Orange rushed up to the two under the shade.

"Lemon, you're awake!" she exclaimed. "Wanna play beach ball with us?"

"I-uh-"

"Awesome! Let's go!"

Pulling Lemon away from the safety of the umbrella, Orange bolted back over to where Lime was standing with her green beach ball.

"Here you go!" Orange let go of Lemon. "I'm gonna go get the drinks. Don't have too much fun without me!"

"Alright!" Lime replied with a sweet smile.

Immediately after Orange left, Lime held up her beach ball, tossed it up in the air, and spiked it into Lemon's face with the might of Zeus. Basically, Lemon tumbled into the ground and got a mouthful of sand.

"Lime, what the hell?!" he sputtered, coughing out sand. "I thought we were cool!"

"Sorry!" Lime shrugged with a grin. "Orange held your hand, so you get a beach ball to the face!"

"Is that the case..." Lemon mumbled, brushing the grains off his face.

"I'm back with the drinks!" Orange returned to the group with a tray of tropical drinks in her hand. "Lemon, why is there a red print on your face?"

"It's nothing," he murmured, taking the drink Orange handed him.

As the sun lowered into the horizon, the squad sat atop a rock watching the sunset. The sky was a shade of orange and red, streaked with pink clouds and a warm glow over the ground.

"We don't get things this pretty back at our world, don't we?" Orange sighed, wrapping her arms around her knees. "It'll kind of be a shame to leave the human world."

"I second that," Lemon leaned back against a rock. "because I can actually touch water without worrying about crumbling or shocking everyone within a five meter radius."

"Do I really want to go back?" Lime said, hugging her beach ball. "I really like it here."

"Don't decide on things too quick!" Grapefruit laughed. "We still have a lot to learn about this world. Like, how to use a toilet properly."

The four laughed as the sun sank into the waters. Grapefruit was right. They had a lot to learn about being human, and no matter how beautiful their new home was, they would always have to return in the end.

The sky began to darken, and the squad packed up their items and all piled into the car to head over to the beach house Orange rented.
