[29] "I Can't Wait To See The View From The Top"

{8:45 pm} LOCKING MY CAR, I INTERTWINE my fingers with Dezerae's and we start walking beside Morgen and Tatiana to the Ferris wheel.

"Dezerae, me gustan tus botas," Tatiana replies to my fiancé, glancing at her and smiling.

Dez grins at Tatiana. "Gracias," she replies. She then glances at the huge Ferris wheel in front of her. "How high up does this thing go?" she asks, glancing at me.

"It's 550 feet tall," I answer. "So I guess that's how high it takes us."

"Damn," she whispers.

"You ain't scared, are you?" Morgen asks, chuckling and lightly elbowing Dezerae in the arm.

"Nah, I ain't scared," she answers. "It's just higher than I thought it was going to be."

We finally make it to the ticket window. "Good evening," the guy behind the window greets. "How many?"

"I actually purchased tickets this morning," I reply.

The guy nods. "Alright." He starts typing something on the computer. "What name did you purchase the tickets under?"

"Kaiden Parker," I answer. "I purchased the nighttime happy hour for 21 and over."

The guys nods. After several seconds, the printer starts printing stuff out. When it's done, the guy grabs the papers and passes them to me. "Mr. Felix Bisset," he replies, "will you give your wrist bands before you board the ride. Enjoy!"

I smile kindly at him as I take the papers and then direct everyone over to the VIP line. "VIP line?" Tatiana asks. "Why is it so fancy? I honestly thought we were coming and purchasing our tickets here so then we'd have to wait in the other line."

"I hate having to wait in long lines, so I asked Kaiden this morning to go ahead and purchase the tickets for tonight," Morgen answers.

"Oh okay." She nods.

{8:55 pm} The group in front of us gets into their sphere shaped cabin and Felix shuts their door.

The Ferris wheel moves to the next one and Felix opens the door for us. "Good evening, Parker family," he greets in a thick French accent. "As you pass me, I will give your wrist band." As we pass him, he puts on our wrist bands.

I'm the last one in our group so after he puts mine on, I step on and Felix shuts the door.

The Ferris wheel moves onto the next cabin and stops. "I can't wait to see the view from up top," Tatiana acknowledges cheerfully. "I've never been on this before so I'm sure the view's amazing."

From across me, I silently observe as a big smile appears across Morgen's face. (But he tries to hide it from Dezerae and Tatiana. Thankfully, they don't see it.)

{9:05 pm} Once all the cabins are full, the Ferris wheel begins to make a full round without stopping.

We're almost at the top now and the view is so beautiful. That's when I remember what Morgen wanted me to do.

Glancing over at him, I realize he's fidgeting with his fingers, anxiously. After a second, he releases a soft sigh as he glances at me. It only takes me two point five seconds to realize he's holding the engagement ring box in his hand and he's silently begging me with the look on his face to start recording. Fishing my phone out and going to the recording setting on my camera, I mash the record button and it starts recording. Beside me, I hear Dezerae clear her throat and I peer sideways at her. She gives me a weird look as she gestures to me recording.
