if you don't have internet and can't see the picture above it's in Navaeh's P.O.V :)
——————————I attempt to put on my second black converse but as i'm trying to slide it onto my heel my hopping comes to a stop when I fall over, not being able to catch myself onto my desk that I desperately reach for.
I let out a huff and sit up. I fix my shoe and stand up before I grab my phone and wallet.
I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen to find my mom sitting at the island on her phone.
She looks over my dress and tied up hair and back at her phone without a word.
"I'm about to leave."
"Don't be out too late." She answers nodding without even looking at me.
I shrug it off and walk to the door when I hear a knock at the door.
I open it to reveal Marcus standing nervously with a bouquet of flowers.
"Wow, Navaeh you look great." I smile at the compliment and take the flowers before sitting them on the table beside the door.
"Thank you."
We walk to his car and he holds the door for me making me give him a grateful closed lipped smile.
The ride is fairly quiet, a few questions here and there.
He turns on the radio -probably to break the intense silence- and the first song that comes on is one of Emerson's favorites.
Emerson.
She's been avoiding me like the plague ever since tuesday when she left the lunchroom. If I'm with the guys and talia and they invite her she declines every time. Every time I walk into a room she makes up an excuse to leave. When we sit next to eachother in class she never speaks or even sometimes skips.
"We're here." I blink back into reality to see we're at a diner.
The same diner Emerson took me to.
God I really have to stop that.
He quickly runs over and opens the door for me at the car and when we go to walk into to diner.
We sit at a random booth and I notice the waiter from the last time we were here.
"Hi i'm Amy i'll be your waiter today. Can I start you off with something to drink?" She repeats the line she's probably said one hundred times this week.
She looks exhausted with her hair messily thrown up, sleepy eyes, and slouched posture.
She looks to me and I mutter a "Sprite please."
She smiles with a nod and looks back down at her worn out note pad.
She does the same for Markus and then goes into the back.
"So, tell me something about you."
I think for a moment before shrugging "I don't know. I mean there's nothing actually interesting about me."
"Nonsense. Everybody's interesting. Do you have any hobbies?"
"Yes, painting." My eyes light up at the thought.
"Really? I've tried it but it's a lot harder than it looks."
I shrug "Yea, but when you practice it gets easier."
"I'm sure you already know i okay football." He says with a slight roll of his eyes.
I tilt my head "You don't seem too happy about it."
He shrugs the smile, small, but still evident on his face. "I only play because it's what my dad expects me to play. I'm more of a music kinda guy."
Wow. Who would have thought. Star quarterback, Marcus Linedi, doesn't actually like football.
Amy comes back and sets our drinks down then takes our orders and once again leaves the table.
"Have you told your dad that?" I ask softly.
He scoffs with a sad look "No way."
"Well maybe you should." I suggest.
"I would love to, but he would lose his mind if I ever said I wanted to be a musician."
"Do you think your dad loves you?"
He furrows his brows "I mean maybe deep, deep, deep down he might. Why?"
"Because if your father loves you than he can learn to accept who or what you want to be. And if he can't then do it anyways. You only have one life to live, would you rather spend in miserably or happily?"
He seems to think over my words for a moment "You know what? I think I will."
I grin but before I can speak our food is sat down and we begin to eat changing the subject.
He pays the check and leaves a ten as a tip but I slip in another twenty before we leave.
When we get back to my house he walks me up to the porch and I turn around to face him before actually opening the door.
"I had fun tonight."
He grins "Me too. We should do it again sometime."
I want to say no. I want to tell him I like Emerson and I can't do this again.
But then I look at his hopeful and innocent eyes and I just don't have the heart to do it.
"We should." I nod.
I'm positive he starts going in for a kiss making my eyes widen and I turn my head to the side so his lips connect with my cheek.
He doesn't take it too hard and grins just a brightly as before then says goodnight and walks back to his car.
I give him a wave and walk inside. I lean on the door and let out a breath.
That went well.
oooh double update

Teen FictionHonestly I have to go through and rewrite the entire story so dont read it. It's stupid and makes zero sense. "Fuck it." I whisper and turn around walking straight to the confused, tear faced Navaeh. I place my hands on both side of her face and kis...
