I leaned behind a tree, peeking at a huge building with big windows all over. A few white half rings placed in different altitudes along the building's facade.
A few girls and boys my age walked towards the building, talking to each other and joking. They were wearing similar uniforms; beige shirt topped with burgundy jackets and burgundy calf-length skirt with high-cut or trousers with the hem lined gold. I was wearing them too.
Then a few other students passed by and caught my eyes. I quickly hid myself behind the tree again with my back to the tree. My heart started racing and my stomach started churning.
No, it'll be alright. There are so many people in the world who look like me, surely. I'm not the only flaxen-haired girl around here, I thought.
Commoners are good people. Don't listen to anything everyone says! There is a reason for the stuffs they do.
I mustered up my courage and walked entering the sphere building, looking at my dark brown shoes. Both of my hands clutched the straps of my black drawstring backpack, veins showing on the back of my hands. Helios' words echoed inside my head as I made my way through the hallway.
"I'm sorry, princess. It's too dangerous for us to drop by the eastern region for now. If they get even angrier, it'll make the whole situation difficult for the king and your older siblings. They're planning to hold some diplomatic meetings over the next couple of weeks. The best course of action is for you to wait for the situation to blow over and live for a while there. We've prepared some funds and fake documents for you - try to blend in with the other sixteen years old."
...Aurrum Tech High, really? I thought, I barely got any science subjects in the castle - due to no fault of my own - and now I had to study science full-time?!
My feet stopped right in front of a classroom with the writing 1A. I peeked into my classroom and saw that there were already a lot of students inside the classroom. As I walked into the classroom, all heads turned to me. I could feel my heart racing inside my chest as my gaze wandered and caught pairs and pairs of eyes, in different shapes and colours meeting mine.
Nope, nope... I thought, I'm not who you think I am.
Look way, look away.
Vaguely, I could hear whispers and vague murmurs echoing inside the classroom.
"She's so cute,"
"Where?
"That girl. That girl at the door,"
"Damn... look, she's looking our way!"
"Huh... maybe high school isn't so bad,"
I gulped as soon as those words entered my ears. It wasn't what I feared, but this was not any better of an outcome in my book. Immediately, I wanted to turn back and leave.
