"Guys, you won't believe this!" said Callie as walked towards us, carrying a bunch of books.
"What?" I asked.
"This morning, I walked down the halls carrying these books. Then one book fell off and someone helped me picked it off the floor and handed it to me," said Callie, "guess who?"
"Dylan, the student council president?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"No, not him! Stop talking about him, Wina! There's nothing between us!" said Callie, shaking her head frantically, "anyway, it was Andrew Benson!"
"Huh?!" asked Amy and perked up.
"But that's not the weirdest part!" said Callie, "he was acting way like we were friends when we don't even know each other! He was all 'hey, you're great at chemistry' – what the hell, man! I've never even talked to him before??"
Right then, my face muscles contracted to a questioning look.
"And that was not all!" said Callie, "his birthday is coming up and he actually invited me to his birthday! He told me to invite Amy too, though!"
"WHAT?!" asked Amy, "I don't want to go! These days, all the third graders are looking at me in a weird way! Then they started talking about me and him behind my back!"
"You don't have to go if you don't want to, Amy," I said, patting her shoulder, "just make some excuses, how hard could it be?"
"Cal, when's the party?" asked Amy.
"This Saturday," said Callie.
"That's perfect!" said Amy, "I have to go the final round of the research writing competition! Yes!"
Well, that's one problem taken care of... I thought.

That following afternoon, I was about to go to the cafeteria when I overheard some conversations. Their voices rang a bell in my head. Out of curiosity, I knelt down and pretended to fix my shoelaces.
"I'm sorry, I can't make it to your party,"
"Oh, why?"
"I have to go to the final round of the research writing competition,"
"Oh, right... well, how's this? I'll see you compete, then we'll go on a lunch together afterwards!"
Faintly, I turned my head to the side, trying to see Amy's expression. I wasn't surprise that she looked dreadful. But then, the guy put his arm across Amy's shoulder, not noticing the look on her face, as dense as he could get. Amy shuddered a little and took a step to the side. I pretended not knowing anything and walked away. I was actually feeling pretty uneasy that I kept looking over my shoulder, but I was getting really crept out I had to walk away. While it's wrong, I don't want him to know I exist and worse, start trying to get into my radar too.
Well, he's not gonna do anything too weird, right? There are lots of other people around – including the teachers, I justified myself inside my mind, not like I'm the only witness...
About a week has passed since then. I was walking to class when I heard a familiar loud voice from the classroom. Judging on the frequency and amplitude, I was 100% sure that it was Callie. And it was.
"I don't care about him anymore! He's just a single particle in the face of the earth!" her voice boomed, "one out of 6.02 x 10 to the power of 23 Avogadro particle that I can't even see with my own eyes!"
I entered our classroom and saw Amy and Callie talking near my desk. I hurried over to them.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
