The next Monday, I placed my bag on my seat after my feet brought me to class. My mind was somewhere between there and not. Just then, my ears perked up hearing conversation from the other side of the class.
"I have been listing all the possible suspects of the rooftop murdered - it can't be anyone from the second year since they were out on a field trip to the Nuclear Research Centre."
"I think third-years are quite unlikely as well - there's no motive as to why it's Nate. And the letter was in his bag - and only his!"
"It could be midselivered, though,"
"If it's misdelivered, he or she wouldn't keep going with their plan to kill someone,"
At this point, they might as well just persecute me, I thought and buried my face in my arms, just get this over and done with.
Suddenly, I heard a soft thud right next to me and spotted Amelia putting her bag down on the seat next to mine.
"Oh, hi Amy," I said, but trailed off as I noticed that she looked a bit pale, "you okay? You look quite tired,"
"Oh, I can't say I'm on my best shape today..." she replied, "ugh, my stomach..."
"Are you okay?" I asked, "did you eat something bad?"
"No, it's just cramps..." she said, "guess I'll just return the twin's notes later... hopefully it'll get better soon..."
"Want me to return it to them?" I asked.
"Huh? Oh, you don't have to-" she said.
"It's alright," I said, "I need to take a little walk to wake me up, so... might as well,"
"Well, if you say so..." Amelia replied and opened her bag.
As soon as I received Kissa's notes in my hands, I went up the stairs to the third floor where the third year's classrooms are. Right then, as I passed through the balcony, the sight of the open skies and the scent of the breeze lifted a veil over my eyes.
This is nice.
Now to find 3C... ah, the last one down the hallway, I thought and walked over to the said class.
But just as I was passing by 3B, a girl and a boy came out running from the door. The girl was tall and slender with lavender pixie-cut hair that went to her neck. Her fist was clenched and swung towards the boy's head.
"Think again before calling me names!" she said.
"I'm sorry! Have mercy on me, Kassandra!" said the boy and ran away.
The girl put her hands on her hips. Then suddenly she turned around and noticed me. Her eyes were deep violet and they looked a little agitated. I was pretty much glued to my spot, too scared to walk towards her. However, suddenly I noticed a pair of hands placing themselves on the girl's shoulder.
"Kassandra, there you are!" a familiar voice exclaimed.
"Eeep!" the girl screamed.
The girl called Kassandra turned around, revealing a girl with red hair and oval face. The girl's blue eyes darted to me and smiled.
"Oh, hi Wina," she said, "rare to see you here. What are you up to?"
"Oh, just returning these notes and papers for Amy... she's kind of in a bad shape" I said, "thanks for these, Kissa!"
"Don't mention it," she said and took the papers from my hand, "by the way, you're coming to our party, aren't you?"
"Party?" I asked.
