Before I knew it, the day for Kya and Kissa's birthday party arrived. They mentioned it being held in the evening in a restaurant outside the school area. Another thing I probably haven't mention is that all the students in Aurrum High live in the dorms. We usually can go out until 9 in weekdays, but on weekends we can go out until 11. However I never step out of the campus area. Basically, I'm too scared that I'll meet thugs and weirdos outside school when there's enough weirdo inside the school. But that Saturday, I had no choice but to come out since Kya and Kissa have invited me to their birthday dinner.
I came out of the dorms and waited for Callie and Amy at the school gate. I was wearing a knee-high pale pink A-line dress which hung on spaghetti strings and comfy flats in the same colour.
I wonder if this is alright? I thought.
"Winaa!" said a familiar voice from the back.
I turned around to see Amy and Callie waving me from the distance. Callie was wearing a long black and white checkered top with black outer and a pair of shorts plus an ankle-high boots, while Amy was wearing a black top and skinny jeans with a pink cardigan.
"Wina, you look so cute!" said Callie and hugged me.
"I was... actually wondering if it's too much. I don't really know what other people usually wear," I said.
"Nah, that's okay. Kya said that there's no dress code, right?" said Amy, "even if you come in your pyjamas they will still accept you hahaha,"
"I mean, technically that's true-" I said.
"Anyway, come on," said Callie, "before they run out of food!"
"Do you know the way?" I asked.
"More or less. Never went there before, but I know the area," she said.
"Lead the way, Cal," I said and gave her a pat on the back.

Led by Callie, the three of us walked through the town. The sun has set not too long ago, leaving the street lights to fend off the darkness by themselves along with the vehicles which came and go. Old buildings made out of beige and red bricks lined up against each other, with big windows revealing what's inside. Most of these buildings were mainly selling clothes and various snacks and drinks. Somewhere around the corner, a scent of herbs and spices also wafted in the air, coming out of a shop selling traditional medicines - something you would normally not see in the eastern region.
While I was busy looking around, suddenly we have arrived in front of a huge modern-looking building with huge window glasses revealing escalators. People were pushing a trolley or carrying some groceries here and there.
"Is this a supermarket?" asked Amy.
"They said it's in this building... ah, that one, isn't it?" asked Callie and pointed to a sign nearby.
The three of us walked into the restaurant, spotting Kya, Kissa and a bunch of other people gathering around a big table.
"Hey, you three," said Kissa, waving us over, "over here!"
"Kissa-chan, Kya-chan, otanjoubi omedetou!" said Callie and ran into the twin, hugging them.
"Happy birthday, you two!" shouted Amy and hugged them as well.
"Aww thank you, Callie, Amy," said Kissa and hugged her back.
"Meow," said Kya and hugged them back as well.
Should I hug them as well? I thought, standing still awkwardly.
"Wina, Kassandra, come here!" Callie exclaimed.
