Chapter 21

Colby's POV
Sam and I get into the car. "Okay, where do you wanna go for lunch?" I ask, pulling out onto the road. "Can we go to Tender Greens? I've never been there yet, and I wanna try it." Sam asks. "That is a great idea Sammy." I say. I drive down the road and pull into Tender Greens.

We walk inside and order. "Wait what's that green looking thing right there?" Sam's asking look at the menu. "I don't know, I think it's something knew." I say. The door opens again with the bell chime at the top. Me and Sam continue to chat while waiting for our food.

"Colby?" Someone says. I turn around a see a girl. "Gabby? What are you doing here in L.A?" I ask. "I have family that live here, and I came to visit." She says. "It's so nice to see you again." I get up and hug her. "So how's life back in Kansas?" I ask. "It's pretty good. Still get a whole lot of fucking snow." She laughs.

"How's L.A? It's really nice here." Gabby says. Sam clears his throat. "Oh right, Gabby this is Sam. Sam this is Gabby. Gabby, was one of my other friends back in Kansas." I say. "Hi nice to meet you Gabby." Sam smiles. "N-nice to meet you too Sam." Gabby stutters. Oh come on! Don't fall in love with him! He mine. Me and Gabby exchange phone numbers and she leaves.

Sam is already done with his food. "Woah, you ate the pretty fast." I say digging into mine. "Nah, when you where talking with Gabby, our food came. So I started eating." Sam says. "I'm sorry Sammy. I just haven't seen her in a long time." I say.

"I know. It's okay Colby. I understand." He smiles. That fucking smile. I can't handle it. "Well, I guess I don't have to be jealous of you anymore." I chuckle.

Sam gives me a weird look. "You really are cute when your clueless." I say. He blushes madly. "Since you and Kat broke up, we are both single pringle brothers." I laugh. "Oh, right. I just realized she broke up with me, on my god damn birthday!" He says.

"Hey hey, it's okay. I'm sorry I brought it up. Now let's talk about you. It's your birthday today. What do you want to do before we go to dinner tonight?" I ask.

I eat and listen as Sam gives me a few things he would want to do. "Oh and there's this fair at the board walk. I've been really wanting to go, but I haven't had the time and everybody else is busy..." He kind of drags on the word busy.

"Sammy, I promise that I will take you to that fair today." I grab his hand. "I will legit pinky swear." I say seriously. Sam smiles softly. We pink swear and I finish eating.

We exit Tender Greens and head to the car. "Oh, so you can take midget here but can't meet me here? Wow, that's cruel." We turn around and see Brennen. You've got to be kidding me.

"What do you want, Brennen." I hiss, grabbing Sam's hand behind me. "Oh me?" He smirks. "I decided to come here with my friend."

A guy with curly black hair, white skin, with glasses gets out of the car. He wears a grey oversized sweater and some black skinny jeans with checkered vans. "This is Xander." Brennen smirks. Xander waves at Sam. I shoot a glare at him.

"Tsk, funny how we all meet up here. I'm surprised you brought that freak here." Brennen snickered. "Even though he needs to eat this healthy food here."

I peer behind me and see tears forming in his eyes. I turn back to Brennen. "That freak honestly doesn't deserve to live. Isn't it his birthday today? Well, I wish your mother didn't give birth to you. Just look at yo-"

"Brennen, if you say anything about Sam one more time right now. I'm not afraid to kick your ass again. So, how about you and Xander go inside and leave us alone." I say in a dark tone.

Nobody likes it when dark Colby comes out, especially Brennen. He gives me a scared look. "Come on Xander. We don't need those losers anyways!" Brennen says and walked inside. Xander waved goodbye and scurried away to Brennen.
