Chapter 24

Sam's POV
Everyone gets dressed into some dry clothes and meet outside. Elton had to stand on his car with a megaphone "Alright! Listen up! Tonight, we are going to LASA for dinner tonight! Does everyone know where that is?" Elton says. We all say "yeah" in unison.

"Good! Now let's go get some food, cause I'm hungry! BUT! Sam and Colby lead the way since it's Sam's birthday!" Elton yells. Me and Colby get into our car and drive out of the gates. We wait for everyone else to line up behind us.

"Um Colby, can Liam get into the car? He just texted me and said everybody else is full." I ask look down a bit. "Sure that's fine." He smiles. I text Liam telling him he can. A few seconds later the back door opens. "Thanks for letting me ride with you guys." Liam says.

"No problem dude." I say. Colby pulls out of the driveway.

"Happy birthday, to you! Happy birthday, to you! Happy birthday dear Sam! Happy birthday to you!" Everyone claps and cheers. I blow out the candle on my little sundae I got here. "Hey Sam, I have a present for you in car." Colby leans over.

He gets up. "W-wait, right now? Don't you want wait till we get back home?" I ask. He shakes his head and grabs my hand. Colby drags me outside to the car. "Bear, please don't pull another prank on me. The one last time really freaked me out." I say paranoid and on the verge of crying just thinking about it.

"I really thought you died and that i-i-i was go-gonn-a die." I stutter, fumbling with my fingers. "Sammy, I'm never going to do that again. I promised you." He says softly. "Okay close your eyes." I close my eyes. I feel something cold on my chest. A necklace?

"Okay open them." I open my eyes and look at my chest. "I-i hope you like it." Colby says scratching the back of his neck. "It's out XPLR cross or X, whatever it is. I got it customized, and it had 'Sam and Colby vs. The World' on the back of it."

He really does love me. I look over at Colby and hug him. "Thank you so much Bear. I love it." I say. He hugs me back. We stand there for a while before we hear a herd of voices. "Alright everybody! Off to the fair at the board walk!" Elton yells through his mega phone. Colby, me and Liam get into the car.

We pay for our wrist bands and walk inside. Liam mumbles something to Colby. "Hey, how about we go on that ride." He says pointing to a really tall ride. "I um, I don't know Bear. You know I don't like heights." I mumble. "I'll be next to you the whole time." Colby says grabbing my hand. I nod and we walk over.

Colby and I sit next to each other and buckle ourselves in. I feel my palms start to sweat. I run them on my shorts. We start to head upwards once everyone is strapped in and ready. "Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit." I whisper. 

I tightly grasp my arm rests I have. "Sammy! Open your eyes!" Colby yells. "I-i can't look." I say. My hand starts to feel warm. I open my eyes and see Colby holding my hand. "I shouldn't of opened my eyes!" I yell. "We are way to high for my liking!"

Colby just starts laughing. "I-it's not funny!" I groan.

We've been walking around for about an hour. Elton sent us a text to go on one more ride and head back to the cars. "Can we go on the Ferris Wheel?" I ask. I feel like a little kid. "Sure. Let's go." Colby says. He grabs my hand and we wait in line. "I thought you were afraid of heights." Colby smirks.

"Only on rides like the first one we rode." I argue. He puts his hands up. "Alright alright, let's go on the Ferris Wheel." I smile brightly and start skipping over to the line.

We wait for a few minutes till it's our turn for a seat. (I don't know what the Ferris Wheel seat things are called 😂)
