Carmen POV

"Stop complaining. I can't always be there by your side. And doing shit for you." My mom says trying to get me to shut up.

"But mom. I don't want to go buy them!" I say not wanting to leave the comfort of the couch and Netflix.

She just gives me that look saying 'do it or you'll regret it'

I let out a long sigh as a cue to letting my mom know she won this round. I get the keys to my old Honda truck and my purse, making my way to the supermarket.

Once I find a parking space, I quickly check to see if I look presentable or if I look homeless. As I check I surprisingly look presentable since I'm on my period. I open the door the the truck get my purse and quickly go inside the store.

I make my way to the "Girls section" and scan all the tampons to see which ones will work better on me. As I look around me I see a guy probably in his 20's having trouble picking some tampons.

The guy turns to me "Uh hello, can you maybe... help me choose the right brand? Their for my girlfriend and Mother Nature decided to visit and put her in bad mood." He says nervously while I giggle.

"Yeah umm let me see." I look around trying to find the ones that will probably work. "How about these?" I say picking up a box.

"Yeah these will work. Thank you so much. I would have bought the wrong size or something." He says before walking off. I get the same pack as I gave the guy and make my way to the candy isle.

Sometimes I swear I'm a little five year old. As soon as I got to the candy isle I went running off to see which candy I could buy. I ended up getting a big bag of gummy bears and since I knew that wouldn't due I went ahead to get some Oreos.

I finally decided that I should leave and I headed my way to the cash register.

"Hi." the cashier said to me. He had green hair and was very pale he could be considered a vampire. I read his name which was on his name tag and it was Michael. "Um will this be all?" He asks as he picks up my tampons to scan.

"Um yeah. Thank you." I say clearly embarrassed.

"By the way, my names Michael. And don't be ashamed your buying tampons. Every girl has periods." He says.

"Well okay 'Mr. I Know It All'. And not all girls have periods. Well at least the ones that have a penis. And I know your name by your name tag." He just rolls his eyes and chuckles.

After I pay Michael scribbles something on the back of my recite. And hands it to me.

Of course it's his phone number. Typical boy move.

"Call me, Mystery girl. And I'm not a big dick like you might think. I'm pretty smooth goi-" before he can finish his sentence he trips on the floor.

"Yea-h you sure are smooth going." I say in between giggles. As soon as he stood up I left.

I was walking down the parking lot searching for my keys through my purse, suddenly someone bumps into me making me drop my tampons, gummy bears and Oreos on the floor. Before I can pick them up the stranger picks them up giving me an apologetic look with his bright blue eyes. And let me tell you something he was cute. He was wearing a sweater and ripped skinny jeans with hair to his side.

"Uh sorry about that. I didn't mean to bump into you and make you drop your tampons." He says with his Australian accent.

"It's okay. I should have been watching where I was going." I say wanting to go back home and watch Netflix. He passed me my stuff then walks away.

As soon as I get homes notice that the gray Honda is in the drive way. Meaning one thing, my mothers new husband is home. As I walk through the door I see him in the couch watching tv. As soon as he sees me he greats me.

"Hello Carmen. How have you been?" he asks.

"Great Alan. Just leave alone." I say just wanting to get away from him. I didn't like him cause we have history that nobody knows about.

"By the way Calum invited his friends. " he says before I walk away. Calum is Alan's teenage boy. He's older than me by a year and is the caption of the soccer team. Me and my mom moved in with them about a year ago when we moved to Australia.

When I'm making my way to my bedroom I hear laughter coming from Calums room. His bedroom door is open so I can see who's here. Zack which always comes and hangs out with Calum. And Ashton is also here.

"Hey Carmen. Can you bring me snacks?" Ashton asks.

"You know Ashton, god have you two arms and two legs for a damn reason. So you get it." He rolls his eyes standing up and towards the kitchen.

As I'm about to go to my room someone bumps into me.
