it was 10 pm and we had finished unpacking and were getting ready for bed. sarah was in the bathroom brushing her teeth and i was changing into my pajamas, i put on one of my white cropped tank tops but had forgotten to pack any pajama shorts so i borrowed sarah's grey sweatshorts, i have more curves than her so they fit kinda tight but i didn't care, no one was going to see them anyway, i had just gotten out of the shower and my hair was still wet so i threw it into a messy bun before throwing myself onto the bed to turn on the tv and watch some cartoons before going to sleep.
-hey sarah, have you seen the remote? i asked.
-no actually, i was looking for it too while you were in the shower. maybe someone before us took it with them when they left the hotel or something, she replied from the bathroom.
-yeah maybe, i think i'll go down to reception and ask for one, i'll be back in a bit, i told sarah while i put on the slippers the hotel gave us and grabbed my room key. it's silly, but i always watch cartoons before going to sleep, i have been since like forever, it helps me calm down i guess. i left the room and walked through the hotel corridor to the elevators, got in one and pressed the first floor, it was empty which i thought to myself was good when i remembered the clothes i was wearing and that i wasn't really dressed. i contemplated going back up to our room to change into something not as revealing but decided against it out of laziness. the elevator dinged and the doors opened at the first floor, i got out and walked to the lobby.
-hi, me and my friend are staying in room 547 and we couldn't find a remote for the tv in there? i asked the receptionist, do you guys have any spare ones we could borrow or something?
-of course, wait here for just a min and i'll go get one for you, the lady said and went into a back room of some sort. i stood waiting for her by the reception desk with my back turned to the elevators. these shorts are way too small for me, i probably should've changed before leaving the room, i thought to myself as i pulled out the wedgie they'd given me from riding up when i walked. i heard talking and looked behind me to see the boy from the cafe and about four other guys, equally attractive, walking towards one of the elevators, all with their heads turned to me, i quickly turned around again and grimaced while blushing when i realized they probably saw that, i thought and laughed to myself. i heard one of the boys, the one from the cafe i think, tell the others he'd be right up and just had to check something with the receptionist. i glanced over my shoulder to see him walking towards me with his hands in the pocket of his hoodie.
-hey, he said with a confident grin while leaning on the reception desk, we meet again, he continued, while looking me up and down, with a pleased look on his face.
-looks like it, i said in a poor attempt of playing hard to get.
-no stain this time though, he said and raised an eyebrow.
-nah, looking at stains just got too mainstream, and i'm too qUiRky for that, i said and he laughed to himself and looked down as the door to the back room opened and the receptionist came back out and handed me the remote.
-here you go miss, let us know if you find the other one, she said with a polite smile. i turned to him,
-and what "thing" was it that you had to check with the receptionist? i said in a teasing attempt of flirting and looked at him with an eyebrow raised and giggling.
-eavesdropping, classy, he said with an embarrassed laugh. i looked at him with a smile, shrugged and started walking towards the elevators. as the doors were closing i could see him still leaning on the reception desk looking at me with that cocky smile,
-did you need anything? i heard the receptionist ask him as the doors closed.
-uhh no actually, sorry for bothering you, i heard him reply and i laughed to myself, i knew it.
