i could barely think my head was pounding so hard. in a moment of clarity, i opened up my phone again and texted chase an excuse so that i could have the hotel-room for myself a bit longer while i collected my thoughts and worked out what to do next. maybe it wasn't what it looked like? i wasn't sure what to do but i didn't want chase to know i knew, the ball was in my court.
