You Have To Support Friends Through Anything, Right?

Part TwentyOne

It's now Monday. Meaning school. But also meaning the day my dad leaves again. He leaves at eight tonight, so I'm trying not to think about him today in school.

The twins gave me a ride to school again for the first time that feels like forever. When Ethan and I weren't talking, either I walked, or I went with Grayson once in a while. When Ethan went with someone else.

The ride wasn't as awkward as I thought. The twins and I, Well Ethan and I especially haven't really talked since yesterday morning. And what a morning that way.

~Flashback~

I woke up to a loud shriek, and a camera click at the same time. I slowly peel my eyes open to see Grayson at the door, with his phone up. I looked down to see I was on top of Ethan.

Literally on top. I was laying on him. The only part of me that touched the bed was my knees. I was about to get off of Ethan, but his arms that were around my waist, tightened. Causing me to fall face first into his chest.

Meanwhile Grayson is still squealing. "Nothing happened Gray. Go away." Ethan said in a groggy voice.

And before I knew it, Ethan rolled over. Causing him to on top of me. Ethan quickly fell back asleep, while Grayson looks like a three year old in the toy aisle in Target.

~Flashback Ended~

After I went home to spend my last day with my dad, Ethan apparently went to brake up with Alissa. He hasn't said anything about it, so I'm not gonna ask.

As we were walking in, Ethan's arm was thrown over my shoulders. Something he hasn't done since before he and Alissa started dating.

"Whatcha doing, bud?" I asked with a laugh.

"Walking into school with my best friend!" He replied. Suddenly there was a voice behind us.

"Hey! I'm happy y/s/n (your ship name) is in effect right now, but I thought I was your best friend!" Grayson said. We turned our heads to see Grayson walking with his arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed.

Ethan laughed before letting go of my shoulders. "Come here." He said in a weird voice. Ethan put Grayson in a headlock and they started to pretend wrestle.

"See moments like this, I really do feel like Grethan is real." Both twins shot me a glare, as I laughed. Ethan returned next to me, but this time with his arm just above my waist.

We walked into the school and all eyes were on us. Ethan must've noticed when he whispered in my ear. "Just ignore them." As we continued to walk, we saw Alissa crying by her locker with her friends trying to calm her down. If not one, than every student in the hall was whispering.

"Ethan broke up with Alissa!"

"He cheated on her with Y/n."

"Guess they were more than BFF'S."

Ethan got fed up and 'spoke to me' but in a voice where everyone could hear.

"I don't know why that bitch is crying. She's the one who cheated with half the guys in this school. Even Conner."

Girls gasped. Some starting to whisper about Alissa, some were whispering about the guys. Ethan mentioned Conner since his girlfriend Hannah said something about me, that Ethan must have not liked.

It was fourth block, and David wasn't in Algebra. I hate that dude. I don't even want to think about him.

I asked the teacher to go to the bathroom. Once I got the ok, I took the pass and left. Walking in the bathroom, was a mistake.

There stood Alissa. Fixing her makeup, not even showing any emotions like she was earlier. Unfortunately she saw me and smirked.

"Well if it isn't Mrs. I-like-to-steal-others-mans." I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore her. "You know I payed David to sleep with you."

I stopped in my tracks and stared at her. "But too bad he went psycho and actually wanted you! No wonder your precious Ethan doesn't like you back. Look at you!" She laughed, but it was an evil, and mental laugh.

"Why did you cheat on Ethan?" I asked quietly.

"Because his attention wasn't on me. It never was." She slowly walked towards me. "It was always. On. You." She poked my chest at the last word.

"Y/n this, Y/n that. Oh Y/n does that to expect blah blah blah. Always Y/n. David was supposed to make you fall in love with him so Ethan would forget about you. But guess what knight and shining armor came to save the day?"

"But Ethan actually liked you." I said, feeling small.

"But Ethan loves you." Alissa said in a small voice. Above a whisper, but not whisper at the same time.

With that she walked out of the bathroom. I realized I was already in here already, so I just left and went back to my classroom. Never not thinking about what just happened.
