As the bus drove the eleven-hour drive to our next venue in Phoenix, Arizona, I could hear people in the lounge moving around and laughing. Everyone pretty much has cabin fever by this point, but they were all trying to make the best of it, playing games and watching movies old and new. I, on the other hand, was still laying in my bunk, my weighted blanket pulled up to my eyes as I tried to fall back asleep with no such luck. It’s currently just past noon, and I’ve been awake for ten hours straight. Who knew it could be so damn hard to fall asleep?!

Giving up on getting anymore shut eye, I rolled over and grabbed my phone off the charger. The lock screen and home screen pictures were both of Addie and I making peace signs at the camera and grinning maniacally on the first day of high school - smiles so wide that our eyes were screwed shut.

I quickly typed in my password to unlock my phone before going to the notifications bar. Nothing. Not even a text from my mom.

One part of me wanted to get up, crawl out of my bunk and go find tea so that I would be more awake - even green tea makes me hyper, I have a super low caffeine tolerance. The other part of me wanted to never move from here where it was warm and the engine was a calming rumble.

Making up my mind that I would feel better if I had just a bit more energy, I shoved my blanket away from my face and sat up. After quickly pulling my hair into a high ponytail, I exited my bunk, still wearing the Pooh Bear pajamas that I had worn to bed the past two nights.

“Morning, sleepyhead,” Demi chuckled when she saw me and I just glared at her, causing her to laugh even harder.

“Will you make me tea?” I begged, curling up into a ball next to the woman as I suddenly felt very cold.

“And why can’t you make it yourself?”

“Pleaassseeee, Demi?”

“Fine,” The pop singer relented easily, hopping up only to come back with a steaming mug a few minutes later.

“Here. Please don’t spill it,” She stated, handing me the warm object before sitting back down, wrapping her arm around me, and pulling me closer to her.

I took a sip of the peach flavored green tea, smiling happily before my phone buzzed against my leg, causing me to jump and squeak in surprise.

Groaning, I set the blue mug down on a table and hit the button on the side of my phone to light up the screen to reveal a message from Addie who was most likely still in her bunk.

Adelaide: I fucking hate my uterus. Dumbass asshole throwing a fucking pity party because I didn’t give it a baby.

Bella: Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

Adelaide: More like didn’t sleep. At all. Again.

Bella: Ask Demi to buy you melatonin when we get to Arizona. Even I’m getting more sleep than you at this point which is saying something cause I’ve been up since 2.

Adelaide: I’ll just buy it, if I ask Demi she’ll only worry.

Bella: Maybe she should be worried. When’s the last time you slept?

Adelaide: Uh. . . first show we performed? So like, three days ago?

Bella: Yeah, that’s not a good thing, Ad.

Adelaide: But it isn’t abnormal for me. I’m alright, just in paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Bella: You froze my phone you weirdo dumbass. But take like Tylenol and Benadryl together and then you won’t be in pain and you might even fall asleep for a few hours.
