"Everyone always compares life to a roller coaster, but in my opinion it's better to compare life with a swing." The therapist sits in front of me, elbows resting on his knees; he's leaning forward. I sit in the chair opposite of him, listening to what he has to say.
"It has its ups and downs, yes, but in order to get 'up' you have to put in work first. Same goes for life: if you don't work for something - for the 'up' in life - you won't get it. It's simple."
I take in his words. They make perfect sense. And I get them. And I understand, because those words, they're true.
