"Violet, please, I'm not sick, I swear" Leon rolled out of his bed.

"You don't need to make me soup." He started laughing to himself quietly. I couldn't help but appreciate how cute that laugh was for a second.

"Then why was your face red an hot. I've only ever seen that happen when someone has a fever." I found an old dusty ladel in one of Leon's drawers and washed it off in the sink. The smell of dust and perfume started to fade away and in it's place was the welcoming smell of roasted vegetables and melted butter from the soup I had made. It made the dark, gloomy, house feel more like a home.

"Here." I held the bowl out in front of his face and slowly inched it closer until he rolled his eyes and grabbed it.

When he took a sip his eyes lit up and his face went red once again.

"Do you like it?" I put my hands on my knees and leaned forward, awaiting his approval. "Lieutenant- I mean, President Hodgens only taught me how to cook recently, so it might not be very-"

"It's really good, actually"

"So you feel better now?"

"Uh, yea. Perfect. Good as new." He laughed again and blinked, allowing a new coat of water to cover his iris's, making them sparkle like how the stars would shine off the ocean's surface at night.

"Uh... Violet?"

I perked up at the sound of my name and fell out of my trance, tensing my shoulders and closing my mouth.

"Since you're better now, I suppose I should be going to deliver the letters." My eyes lingered on his sparkling eyes for a second until I began to turn slowly towards the door and began walking; the clock inside my heels began ticking again, slower this time, as I didn't actually want to leave.

As my heels clicked, I frantically thought of a reason to stay. Work was painfully boring the majority of the time. Even when I took commissions they were anything but exciting, but for the first time in a while I felt at ease - like I wasn't even working at all.

"Violet."

I froze and time stopped for a second.

"I think that I may be a bit sick after all. Would you stay...just until tomorrow morning of course."

I grabbed the edges of my skirt and turned slowly. Leon wouldn't make eye contact with me, his head was down and I couldn't see his sparkly eyes anymore with all of his hair in his face.

When the click of my heels began again, time resumed. As I stepped closer to Leon, he refused to look me in the eye, so I took his head into my hands and gently moved it up to mine. I bit my glove and pulled it off, exposing my metal hand, then lightly swept his hair out of his face, revealing the beautiful, sparkling ocean that resided in his iris' as well as a pink flush in his cheeks and the warmth radiating from his skin.

"I'll stay for as long as you need... Leon."
