The next morning, I decided to buy something from one of the local restaurants in the city for breakfast. Aster was likely still asleep, but I couldn't confirm that because she had stayed in a different inn than I did for the night and I wasn't very keen on spying on her.

Aster had much higher class tastes than me, considering she came from a wealthy family, and refused to stay in any establishment that wasn't to her liking. Even when I first met her and she had a bullet in her leg I tried to take her to a small abandoned cabin, but she refused, and I had to carry her all the way to the closest village which was about a mile away.

After finishing my search for breakfast, I decided to walk around and attempt to figure out which town Aster and I had stumbled into.

As I was walking, I suddenly heard footsteps. Although, they weren't just normal footsteps that anyone would make. It sounded like the clicking of a clock; it was as if the steps stopped, then time itself would stop as well. These steps were fast. Hurried. They were the steps of someone who was worried about being late, yet the faster they walked, the faster time seemed to pass by and the later they became. Had they slowed down, perhaps they would be on time, but in such a lively city as the one I was in, there was no time to act slowly.

The steps became louder and louder and the passing of time became less and less clear to me. Suddenly, the steps stopped and there was a strange blur of blue and white, then, a heavy weight on top of me and the soft sounds of papers scattering, as well as a single click of a typewriter that had just fallen to the ground.

"Sorry." Said a soft, unsympathetic voice who didn't even bother to look me in the eyes.

"Leiden..." My eyes went wide as I looked at the blonde hair that had been draped over my face by the woman that fell on top of me moments ago. "This town... is Leiden."

The two sky blue eyes that hovered above mine finally made eye contact with me and her pupils instantly widened as they took in who I was. They stared at me in awe. It was as if the night and day skies had met for the first time, awestruck with each other and unable to part ways.

At that moment, I heard footsteps once again. A different kind than the one's that belonged to the maiden in front of me. They were quick, but sloppy.

"Get off of him you crazy, weapon, girl!" Aster came running up and tackled Violet, knocking her off of me. I saw Violet's pupils quickly shrink and her eyes go wide at the surprise.

"Leon! This girl is dangerous! You need to leave." Aster sounded desperate, but I didn't listen to her for even a moment.

"Aster! Get off of her, what are you doing?" I sat up quickly and grabbed Aster's shoulder.

"This is for murdering my three brothers, you emotionless psycho." Aster quickly lifted a hand up and slapped Violet's cheek. "This is for killing my boyfriend!" Aster slapped Violet with the other hand. Tears began to fall from Aster's eyes, landing on Violet's pale, shocked face.

"I'm sorry." She whispered as a tear fell from her left eye. Aster gritted her teeth together and slapped her one more time, much softer than any of the previous two strikes, then pushed herself up and grabbed my arm, sprinting away before I could say anything else.
