Chapter 7: a tide that is taking me under🌊

Time skip to Wednesday day lunch:

"Ok guys after school I will spell our detention so it's done then we change into our swim stuff then meet at the enchanted lake. Everyone good with that?" Mal tells us at lunch. Everyone agrees,  "ok now we are going to the library to research the lake and anything to do with the case thing he's trapped in." We all stood up and walked to the library. Mal had regained herself and taken the lead again. The purple haired girl is determined to free her boyfriend. When we enter the old Auradon library we all got to work reading and skimming through books. I picked up one on the lake. After 10 minuets of reading the dusty ancient book, I reached a page on countering its abilities, the page read it's a flower.
"Guys, I think I found something." Everyone hurries over to me and I read the page out. "The enchanted lakes powers of countering all magic are some of the most powerful magic in the land, however if a spell is cast within the lake the only thing able to counter the spell is a bleeding heart flower. The flower can be added to the lake along with the spell and will break anything the enchanted lake holds within."I snap the book shut.
"So, where do we get a bleeding heart flower?" Doug asks,
"We could ask fairy godmother?" Evie suggests,
"Yeh if this flower is so powerful then I doubt there will be a book on it in here." Carlos adds,
"Ok let's go." Jay says and we all make our way to fairy godmothers office.
"Oh hello children! How may I assist you?" Fairy godmother asks us cheerily,
"We were wondering if you knew anything about the bleeding heart flower?" Evie replies putting on her sweetest voice and batting her eyelids,
"I do happen to know some information about that flower, may I ask why you need it?" I bite my lip,
"It's a history project," Carlos quickly answers.
"Yeh, we're doing it for extra credit 'cause of our detention." Jay adds.
"Well. The flower is the only thing in the world that can break any spell the enchanted lake is protecting. It's only found in one specific place in the world-"
"Ah where would that be?" Mal interrupts.
"Well miss Mal I was just getting there, the only place to find this flower is on the isle of the lost." She pauses, "which is ironic because really it's only purpose if for the lake and,well, that's over here." She chuckles. "Anyway after being picked the flower must be used Within 4 hours and can only be used once before it's love bleeds out."
"Ok well thanks fairy godmother this will defiantly help our grade, bye bye." Doug shuts her up and we all hurry out.
"Great!" Carlos throws his hands up, "it's only found on the isle!"
"We can figure this out, right?" Lonnie says sceptically, then the bell rings.
"I wish I could say saved by the bell... but we are defiantly not." Evie sighs. I head to math alone. In my lesson all I can do is try to figure out how we are going to save Ben. When the lessons over I walk to p.e. Me and Mal change then walk out and meet Carlos and Jay,
"class! today we will be playing volleyball! Everyone in groups of four!" Coach yells,
"Seriously why can't this guy shut up for once?" I mumble.
"Okay everyone you will be playing against the team to your right." He screams "now play!" I look to my right,
"Great!" Mal rolls her eyes, the team we are playing is Audrey, Chad, Alvin (Aladdin's son) and Finn (Flynn riders son). We all take a space on either side of the net. Jay serves, chad hits it back, Mal hits it, Audrey try's but doesn't hit it hard enough and the ball lands on their side.
"1-0!" Mal taunts. This time Finn serves, I hit it back, Alvin hits it back, Carlos hits it back then chad misses.
"Chad get your act together!" Audrey screams, we play for a bit longer and the score ends up 6-2 to us.
"Aw Audrey did your little gang of manipulated boys fail?" Mal hisses after the match,
"You and you VK's got lucky." She replies, "actually your VK's and fake VK over there."
"Yeh, Elle is just my reject so she ran to you cause she had no friends." Chad comments,
"She has more friends than you fake faces." Jay snaps,
"That's her dream." Chad scoffs,
"No her dream is that you go back to the mess of a planet you came from." Carlos fires back,
"Whatever she's still your fake villain." Finn laughs,
"Actually I'm not a fake villain I'm an ice princess thanks very much." I retort back before anyone can stand up for me.
"Ayyyy!" Jay and Carlos cheer and Mal slings her arm round me.
"Later losers."  I call as we all walked away leaving them speechless,
"That was bold Elle." Mal smirks as we get changed into our swimsuits for the mission.
"Yeh, I guess I might as well be myself now I don't have to pretend." I laugh, I pull a oversized white top over my swimsuit.
"I honestly thought you would just let Carlos stand up for you again." I look over at her, she puts a purple oversized shirt on.
"What do you mean?" My confused voice asks,
"Oh come on Elle! He's always standing up for you and sitting with you when he can, how did you not notice? It's even obvious to me, not Evie, me!" She tells me,
"Yeh as if, we're friends." I shrug,
"Mmmhmmm." She hums, we leave and walk to detention with the boys. Fairy godmother gives us the speech and today's task. Litter picking again. Then she leaves.
"No luck, times up, pick all the litter up." Mal casts a spell, "ok let's go." We all jog to the lake as if we were in a spy movie and finding out our next clue, which to be fair we arnt that far off. When we reach the lake everyone pulls off the cloths hiding their swimsuits. We all walk to the edge of the lake in awkward silence, it's strange seeing everyone in swimsuits.
"Ok jump in on five?" Doug asks, we all nod.
"One," Lonnie says,whys it so awkward?
"Two," Evie says, I have an idea.
"Five!" I shout and push Carlos in the lake. We all burst out laughing as he splashes and splutters.
"Elle I'm getting you back for that!" He yells,
"I got you bro," I hear Jay say then I feel someone push me into the lake.
"Hey!" I gasp.
"Girl code!" Lonnie shouts and pushes Jay in aswell.
"Bros for life!" Doug exclaims and pushed Lonnie in.
"Sisters before misters!" Evie shoves her boyfriend in the water,
"Sorry, but I'm still a villain." Mal laughs and pushes the evil queens daughter in. Then the purple haired girl jumps in herself. For a few minutes we forget why we are here and just mess around splashing each other.
"Elle." Carlos calls my name,
"Hey," I say swimming over a bit.
"So when I said I'd get you back, I was not joking." He looks at me very serious.
"Carlos..." I say backing away,
"Are you ticklish?" He asks moving forward again,
"Carlos. Don't." I say still backing away.
"Your dead Elle." He grins and lunges forward.
"No!" I shriek. I swim away laughing, I swim into the group and try to duck around them.
"Elle what are you doing?" Mal rolls her eyes at me.
"Carlos... tickle... help..." I pant.
"What?" Doug asks,
"Got ya!" I turn round and see Carlos grinning like the chesha cat. He starts tickling me and I laugh uncontrollably and loose my senses. I start sinking down, "hold on!" Carlos grabs my arms and holds me up.
"When you two are done flirting Elle come show us where Ben is." Jay calls over, Carlos let's go and we swim over. I go under to hide my blush,
"Ok," I tread water and talk to everyone. "He's to your right the waters really clear so you can see him easy." We all go under, I knock on the tank thing Ben is in, the boy was sat looking at the ground. He looks up and smiles, I point over to Mal. His whole face lights up and he walks over to her, even though we are under water everyone can see Mal is crying. We swim up to catch our breath.
"So now what?"

Ok I don't know if the story line is progressing too quick but yeh. There was some more Carlos action here and yeh. So yeh 😂 bit short Xx
