When George left the office, he slammed the door shut behind him and walked to room nine. Alex kept his gaze on Norma and Norma smiled at him. Their hearts were racing and both were scared that the other could hear how loud it was.
"Thank you, for helping me out," Norma thanked, looking down at their hands.
"You don't have to thank me, I just don't like people like him," Alex replied.
It went silent until Norma inhaled deeply, "Alex," Norma whispered cautiously.
"Yes?" Alex asked, tilting his head to the side with a small smile.
"D-Did- did you really mean the kiss on the boat?" Norma asked, keeping her gaze on their intertwined fingers.
Alex stayed silent and felt his face go hot. Norma looked at Alex as he hesitated and saw so many emotions in Norma's eyes.
"It was just the heat of the moment, you know?" Alex asked, playing it off.
Norma nodded and let go of Alex's hand. She grabbed the office keys and squeezed by Alex, walking out of the office and waiting for him to get out. Alex quickly walked out from where he was standing. Norma quickly locked up and started walking towards the stairs with Alex by her side.
"Come on Dylan, Norman! Time to wash up," Norma yelled making the boys run to her and Alex.
As they walked up to the house, Alex couldn't help himself and grabbed Norma hand, making her stop and turn around.
"What's wrong?" Alex asked, looking up at Norma who stood on a step higher.
"I- nothing. Don't worry about it," Norma whispered, smiling softly to prove her point.
Alex nodded and started to let go of Norma's hand but she tightened her grip and turned around, pulling him behind her as they walked up the porch steps.
-
Norma woke up with a pounding headache as she sat up in bed. The house was quiet and she was thankful for that. She then turned and looked at the clock on her nightstand; it was ten-thirty. The boys had school but she didn't think much about it, they probably woke up and took the bus.
Norma laid back down and closed her eyes, she wanted more sleep but as her body relaxed, the loudest banging came from the front door. Norma groaned and got out of bed, going downstairs and opening both doors quickly.
George stood on the other side of the door with anger in his eyes.
"What do you need?" Norma asked
"I want to know why you let that sheriff push me around like that!" George snapped, making Norma wince because of the loud ringing in her ears.
"Because he's the sheriff and can do whatever he'd like," Norma snapped.
George grabbed Norma's upper arms and looked into her eyes.
"I love you!" George yelled, "Why don't you love me?!".
Norma's eyes widened as she saw George's distress. She faltered and felt sadness and sympathy but she couldn't love this man; her heart belonged to someone else.
"That's it huh?" George asked, looking Norma up at down.
"What's what?" Norma asked back.
"Alex Romero. You guys are together?" George stated, letting Norma go and running his hands through his hair.
Norma's eyes widened and she shook her head, "No, we're not. He's with someone,"
"Then why won't you be with me?" George asked.
Norma thought about it and felt her vulnerability coming through. She then decided that she didn't want to be alone in that moment so she grabbed George's collar and kissed him, pretending it was Alex.
She pulled him inside and shut the door behind her, pulling him even closer to her body as her mind wandered to Alex. George didn't feel like Alex but it was still fun to image. George picked Norma up and pressed himself against her, making her shiver in anticipation.
He pressed his lips to Norma's neck making her skin burn. She sighed as she felt George bring her to the living room. She was put down on the couch as George knelt down in front of her and took her underwear off.
Norma closed her eyes and just let everything come to her as George's head was in between her thighs.
-
Norma laid in her silk night gown as she let herself cool down. She was tired again as she watched George put his navy shirt over his head.
"Lets do this again tomorrow but at noon," George said, looking over at Norma.
Norma nodded and rolled on her side as she let her eyes shut. George rolled his eyes and walked out of the front door but ran into a shocked looking Alex.
"Norma's inside if you need her," George said, walking away completely.
Alex nodded and walked inside, knocking on the second door to warn of his presence. He walked out from the corridor and into the living room, watching Norma pulling on her black underwear. His ears turned a deep shade of red. He looked away and cleared his throat making Norma look at him. She sighed and Alex looked at her with sympathy.
"What was he doing here?" Alex asked, sitting next to her.
"He um, just came to talk to me," Norma replied, looking down at her hands while tears came to her eyes.
Alex was about to ask something but he saw it- a hickey.
"Oh," Alex whispered, feeling angry with George for leaving a mark on Norma.
Norma looked at Alex who looked hurt and mad.
"I'm sorry," Norma whispered, feeling ashamed.
"It's whatever, it's not my business," Alex replied, standing up and walking towards the front doors.
Norma got up quickly and ran to Alex, grabbing his upper arm and turning him to look at her.
"Why are you so upset?" Norma snapped, feeling angered and confused.
"You let that man touch you! He doesn't deserve you! He's just another one of those people who'll use you for your body and men like him get on my nerves!" Alex blurted out.
Norma jumped at the booming words as her headache came back.
"You don't know why I did what I did! You have no right to be mad at me!" Norma screamed, her voice cracking at the end of her sentence.
"Then why did you, hm? You let that man touch something that is supposed to be kept safe for someone you love!" Alex snapped, the thoughts of the man touching Norma enraging him more of that was even possible.
Norma couldn't hold in her thoughts anymore, "I pretended it was you!".
Alex fell silent.
