George looked behind him and scrunched his eyebrows together. Shelby smiled an evil smile; his eyes darker than usual.
Norma took in the mans appearance and felt her stomach twist in disgust. She felt dizzy and lightheaded; all she wanted right now was for Alex to take Shelby away.

Alex sped down the road and came to a dangerous stop as he turned wildly onto the gravel. He parked his car and got out. His first instinct was to go to the office, so that's where he went.
"Norma!" Alex called, opening the office door.
The room was silent. Alex turned around and looked around the motel. He then spotted one-room-door ajar. It was George's room so Alex quickly ran to the room and quickly pushed it open, only to see Norma trying to even out her breathing, George laying face down on the floor, and Shelby smiling his best smile.
"I was wondering when you'd get here. It was starting to get boring without you here," Shelby laughed.
Alex didn't say anything, he was too scared to say anything.
Shelby stood up, out of his chair, and walked over to Norma who was standing by the bed. Her heart was racing and she felt the need to cry, but refused to do it in front of her ex-interest.
"It's you two now? You're dating my boss?" Shelby asked, grabbing Norma's jaw and pulling her face close to his.
Norma whimpered quietly and went to look at Alex but Shelby started speaking again.
"You're so beautiful when you're scared," Shelby whispered, brushing his lips against hers.
All of a sudden, Shelby stopped talking and listened to the low sound of sirens.
"You bitch!" Shelby yelled, pulling away from Norma and slapping her.
Alex grabbed his gun as soon as Norma hit the ground. He pointed it at Shelby but Shelby had the same plan and grabbed his gun.
The world started to go in slow motion. Shelby shot Norma and that's when Alex shot his gun. Shelby fell to the ground, dead. Norma felt lightheaded as she held her stomach; blood soaked her dress and stained it dark red.
Blood was coming out of Norma's nose and a deep bruise was forming on her cheek. Alex ran over to Norma and lifted her head up. He felt tears wanting to come to his eyes but he held back.
"Norma, baby, breath deep breaths. I'm going to take you to the hospital." Alex whispered.
Norma shut her eyes as she started feeling tired.
Alex started panicking and lifted Norma up bridal style, quickly running out of the motel room, and running to his car.

Dylan waiting by the gate with Norman. The school trip was over and it was finally time to go home. As they waited, a police car pulled up in front of them- it was Alex.
Dylan walked around to the front and Norman opened the back door, getting in and silently sitting. Dylan did the same thing but quickly looked at Alex who looked like a train wreck.
"What's wrong?" Dylan asked, concerned for the tired looking man.
"You're mom. Something happened to her so you guys are going to my house until they discharge her tonight," Alex explained.
Dylan nodded and looked out of the window.

Norma groaned in pain. Her mouth tasted like iron due to the blood that stuck to the roof of her mouth. She went to move her right hand but she felt someone holding it.
She opened her eyes and everything was bright and blurry. She groaned again, feeling like she had been stabbed over and over again.
The blur finally went away and she could finally see her surroundings. Alex was holding her hand tightly, examining her kindly.
"Is this heaven?" Norma asked, her voice hoarse.
Alex chuckled and smiled softly which made Norma smile wide.
"Nope, it's the hospital," Alex chuckled, playing with Norma's skinny fingers.
"Okay, good," Norma laughed, watching the amazing man in front of her.

Norma's recovery went slow but was easy when Alex was always by her side. It took a month and a half before Norma started feeling the best she possibly could. After that, time went quicker than ever.
Five months had passed and Alex was sitting in his car in front of his house. Norma, Dylan, and Norman has moved there for the better. The motel wasn't a safe place anymore, and Norma always had the worst luck there.
As Alex thought about the great memories that had happened in his warm and cozy home, his nerves started to die down, so he go out of his car and walked to the front door.
He looked up at the dark sky and took a deep breath. Alex opened the front door and was overwhelmed with the smell of food. Of course is smelt amazing; it was Norma cooking.
"I'm home!" Alex called, watching as Norma turned and glanced at him.
"He's home!" Norman yelled, running down the stairs while Dylan walked downstairs behind him.
"Hey buddy," Alex chuckled as he picked the skinny boy up.
The boys walked to the kitchen and Dylan and Norman quickly walked to the table and sat down.
"How was your day?" Norma asked, feeling Alex wrap his arms around her waist.
Alex pressed his lips against Norma's neck and smiled, "It was great, but I need to talk to you.".
Norma scrunched her eyebrows together and turned around gently.
"Talk about what?" Norma asked.
Alex took a deep breath and smiled. He pulled back and grabbed Norma's left hand gently.
"We've known each other for a few years now, right? Well, those few years have been the most important years of my life. You've changed me in ways nobody could. You have excepted me into your small family and have given me a reason to wake up in the morning, and I can't thank you enough. So, I've been wanting to ask this question for a few years now, and-" Alex grabbed the ring from his pocket and knelt down on his knee.
Norma gasped as a tear fell down her cheek.
"Will you, Norma Louise Bates, marry me and make me the happiest man alive?" Alex asked, his heart beating a thousand miles per hour.
Norma nodded her head and watched as Alex slid the ring on her ring finger. As soon as it was completely on, Alex kissed the ring and stood up, wiping the fallen tears off of Norma's face.
"I love you," Norma whispered
"I love you," Alex whispered back, kissing Norma's nose.
