After their long embrace, Norma pulled back and looked up into Alex's loving eyes. She wanted to spill everything and tell him that she loved him and wanted to be with him but Rebecca suddenly walked up behind Alex and wrapped her arms around him.
"Mrs. Bates! You're here! How are you?" Rebecca asked with forced enthusiasm.
"Fine, um, I'm gonna go, Alex," Norma looked back at Alex, "Thank you for helping me, Mr. Sheriff.".
With that, she turned around and walked back into her room. She felt her heart ache and eyes burn from unshed tears but she numbed the pain and put on a smile.
Alex had watched her the entire time until she was out of his sight and in her room. He wanted to scream at Rebecca for ruining his time with Norma but he didn't.
-
A week had passed and both were discharged from the hospital. Norma went to the front desk and asked to call a taxi and lucky for her, Alex had the same idea. He walked up to the front desk and had the lady who sat there, call a cab for him.
Norma smiled at him and he smiled back as they made eye contact. Dylan watched and all he wanted to do is push his mom against Alex so they can stop looking at each other and kiss, but he refrained.
"Would you like to come over for dinner?" Norma asked, smiling a bit bigger.
"I'd love to," Alex agreed.
Norma looked to her side and saw her taxi. She hugged Alex goodbye and walked her boys out of the hospital.
-
Alex sat in his empty house, looking around for nothing. He felt lonely and was excited to come home but quickly realized the boys weren't there and neither was Norma. He didn't seem like he could be happy without them.
Alex decided to take a shower to ease his thoughts and clean himself up.
-
Norma sat in the kitchen, staring at the red wine in front of her. She wanted to drown her thoughts in it. She couldn't stop thinking about Rebecca and Alex; she hated Rebecca and she made is quite clear. As Norma sat there, a loud bang came from the front door.
Norma jumped up from her seat and walked to the front door as quickly as she could. She opened the first door and then the very front door. There stood an angry looking George. Norma scrunched her eyebrows and looked the man up and down, "George?"
"I need a room. Can I get one?" George asked, his attitude at its highest level.
"Yeah," Norma replied, walking to the stand by the stairs and grabbing her keys.
She closed the doors and walked down the concrete stairs while George followed behind her. She felt his eyes on her but ignored it completely and looked at her sons who were playing on the swing set on the gravel.
Norma got off of the last step and called out to the boys, "You two be careful. When I'm done in the motel, it'll be time to come in!".
The boys nodded and Norma walked to the locked door of the motel office. George stood behind Norma angrily and tapped his foot impatiently. Norma hurriedly opened the door and walked inside, hearing George whisper something under his breath.
She walked behind the desk and looked at George as kindly as she could, still in shock and rage that he was even with her in the same room.
"What can I help you with?" Norma asked, looking at the taller man.
"I obviously need a room," George scoffed, rolling his eyes as he grabbed his wallet.
"How long?" Norma asked, looking at the screen.
"A month," George replied, gaining his composure.
"Okay," Norma replied, typing things in as she took George's card.
George watched Norma; he felt his heart racing and sadness and rage.
"I miss you," George blurted out, keeping his face straight as he played it off.
Norma looked up from the computer and deadpanned. She didn't like George; he was a grown adult who acted childish and got his sister to chew her out.
"You what?" Norma asked, keeping her face unreadable.
"I miss you! When I heard that you went missing, I was terrified, and then I heard how Sheriff Romero was the absolute craziest person in town when you disappeared," George explained.
Norma was speechless and couldn't say anything, so she handed the card back and told him when his cleanings were.
When she walked out from behind the desk, George pulled Norma in front of him and trapped her in between the desk and his body. He kissed her and she tried to pull away but he grabbed her wrists and held them on her sides.
George hadn't noticed Alex pull up on the gravel and get out of his car. He hadn't heard the screaming of excitement coming from the two boys when Alex walked up to them.
George moved to Norma's neck and Norma wished she was dreaming.
"Why are you doing this?" Norma asked, looking at the shut motel door.
"You used me and now I'm using you," George whispered against Norma's skin.
Norma held her breath and looked out the window to see Alex walking towards her with anger. Norma went to push George off of her again but he held her in place and she let out a whimper.
"Please stop!" Norma cried out.
George ignored her until he heard the door slam open and Norma gasp. He loosened his grip on her but held her hips.
"Can't we get some privacy?" George asked.
Norma's face turned to disgust and looked up at George's turned face. She then pushed him away as hard as she could, and walked behind the desk quickly, looking at Alex.
"I don't think she likes you," Alex snapped, walking over to Norma as a way of protection.
"Norma! Tell him that that is preposterous!" George snapped.
Norma looked at him and then Alex who was looking expectantly at her.
"It's preposterous," Norma whispered, gaining a sigh of relief from George and a hurt look from Alex.
"It's preposterous that you think I like you," Norma stated loudly this time, then looking at George, "I do not like you.".
George grew angry and Alex smirked. Norma grabbed Alex's hand and squeezed it tightly, then turned to grab a key off of the wall and handed it to George.
