Then we heard a deep voice behind us. "Give me the chip and we can all go home happy tonight."
I grabbed the chip and put it in my pocket. Then we turned around to see our worst enemy, Dr. Einstein, somehow related to Albert Einstein. "Doctor E. you know you can't have this chip. Why don't you make it easier for us all and just leave?" I said.
"The only thing that will make his easier would be you handing over the chip," he said.
I looked at Nathan and he nodded. We started to get nearer hoping we could either grab him and tie him up or run around him and escape. Doctor E. was not going to let either of those things happen. He pressed a button on his watch and almost immediately ten men appeared in the doorway. Both Nathan and I were surprised. Nathan looked at me as if I had a plan. For the first time, I looked around the room. It was pretty much empty. In front of us, there was nothing besides Doctor E. and his men. Behind us, there was the safe and in front of the safe were two barrels. I looked over a Nathan and slightly jerked my head backward. He nodded slightly. Doctor E.'s men were coming closer. At the same time, Nathan and I ran back to hide behind the barrels. Doctor E.'s men began to shoot at us and we shot at them. We shot down five men and shot the guns out of the five others. Then we came out and fought the five now weaponless. I tried to kick one but he grabbed my leg. Using that against him I swung my body around kicking him in the face. He let me go and I kicked him in the stomach. He fell to the ground groaning. Nathan had already taken down two and I took down the last one. Doctor E. looked surprised but his surprise soon his surprise turned to anger.
"You won't win this time." He said through clenched teeth. He pulled out his gun.
It was a very big gun and massively dangerous gun. I looked over at Nathan. He dropped his gun and his head drooped. It looked like we had no chance. I looked around the room to see if there was any chance of escape but anyways I knew the gun would probably blow up the whole building. Yes, it's that strong.
"Fine," I said with a sigh. "You can have the chip." I pulled it out of my pocket and walked toward Doctor E. "No Maggie! Don't do it!" Nathan said grabbing my arm. "Don't listen to him Maggie your right to give me the chip." Said the Doctor E. with a big grin spreading across his face. "Maggie?" whispered Nathan looking desperately into my eyes. "It's ok," I told him giving him a mischievous smile. He let my arm go understanding my plan.
I continued to walk toward Doctor E. that waited with his hand held out. When I was close enough I gathered all my strength and kicked the gun out of Doctor E.'s hand. Nathan ran forward and caught the gun. He aimed it at Doctor E. and Doctor E. froze. I put the chip back in my pocket and pushed Doctor E. forward. Nathan hit Doctor E. in the head with the gun and he slumped down on the ground. We ran out of the room and Nathan threw the gun on the ground outside of the secret room and we ran into the elevator. When we arrived on the roof we started to walk towards the helicopter. We had only taken a few steps when we heard the elevator going back down and the light for 5th floor turned on.
"One of the guards must have woken up and are now after us! We have to hurry!" I said worriedly.
We ran towards the helicopter. Nathan got there first and jumped into the captain's seat. He started to turn on the helicopter. Then the elevator dinged and the doors opened. There in the elevator stood Doctor E. I was so surprised I stopped running. Doctor E. began to walk towards me.
"Come on Maggie! Run!" yelled Nathan.
The helicopter was already beginning to lift off the ground. Doctor E. was getting closer. I continued to run towards the helicopter. I pulled the chip out of my pocket and put it in the backpack. I threw the backpack into the helicopter that was now a foot or two above the ground and was lifting fast. I kept running and by the time I got to the helicopter, it was six or more feet above the ground. I jumped and grabbed on to the skids. Doctor E. was still a few feet away and there was no way he would be able to reach us in time. Much to my disappointment, I saw Doctor E. pull out a gun. He aimed it at the helicopter and shot. It hit right by my left hand. It was so close that it made me let go. I was still holding on with my right hand. I tried to swing my body and once again grab the skid with my left hand but I couldn't. Doctor E. aimed his gun again and this time he hit the target. I felt excruciating pain in my left leg. I looked down and saw blood spreading on my pant leg. He had shot me in the leg. It took all my strength to hold on. Nathan had seen what had happened.
"Hold on we'll stop soon so I can look at your leg," Nathan yelled.
Doctor E. must have thought that I would have fallen already cause I could see the frustration on his face. He ran to the edge of the roof aimed and fired. The bullet barely grazed my hand but it was enough to make me let go.
