Prompt: "You are my first choice." Also, there are some hints of an interview they did a couple of years ago where they played a version of the newlywed game.
The four of them were seated around a coffee table. Thankfully, this was their first and only press interview of the day. Not that they weren't having a good time, it was just they all loved to go exploring on their days off. Sitting inside getting asked questions, some of them over and over again, wasn't their version of a good time.
"So, Kirstie, who has the best smile?" the interviewer asked.
Mitch smirked and quickly wrote on his whiteboard. The interview had taken a slightly more enjoyable turn when they were asked to play the Newlywed Game. The four bandmates gladly accepted. Instead of playing couple versus couple, they were tallying the number of correct answers each band member got. To get a right answer, they had to have the same answer as the one who was asked the question.
Looking around, Mitch realized he had a bit of time left. He decided to be cute and drew a little anime face with sparking eyes and a huge smile. He wasn't a great artist, but he figured the point would get across.
"Okay, show your answers."
The four of them flipped their boards excitedly. They glanced at each other's, Kirstie and Matt giggling. Mitch snorted when he realized most of the boards said Kirstie.
"Aw, you think I have the best smile?" Scott questioned.
Mitch flashed him a grin, trying hard to hide the warmth he felt on his cheeks. "Of course, babes. You're absolutely gorgeous."
The interviewer laughed, and Kirstie interjected. "Hey, I obviously win this one! Don't take my one victory away from me."
Mitch turned to her. "You're beautiful too, honey, but I have to support my mans."
The group laughed, and Scott lightly nudged his foot. "Well, I feel bad now because I put Kevin."
"Kevin isn't even here, bro. He doesn't count," Matt argued. "Your answer is null and void. It doesn't exist."
"I didn't want to give Kirstie too much power! She already won best cook and best at keeping up with things."
Kirstie attempted to laugh evilly. "I am the all-mighty winner!"
Mitch rolled his eyes. "Okay, next question before Miss Drama over here takes over."
The interviewer flipped to the next cue card and said, "Next is Mitch's most annoying habit."
"Ooh, this will be fun," Matt murmured.
"Wait," Scott said. "Can there be multiple answers? Or just one?"
Mitch placed a hand on his chest. "I am attacked! Drag her!"
They were informed only one answer was necessary. Kirstie and Scott leaned together behind Mitch's back. They pretended to whisper to one another, to which the interviewer commented, "Hey, no cheating!"
Mitch rolled his eyes and met Matt's gaze. The darker man waggled his eyebrows and made some type of hand gesture. Mitch stared blankly at him. "Am I supposed to understand that?"
Matt laughed, and they were told to turn their boards.
"He spends a lot of time looking in mirrors," Kirstie supplied as her answer.
"That's an annoying habit?" the interviewer prompted.
"Well, it sometimes gets a bit obsessive."
Mitch sniffed. "Mama has to look good at all times. Plus, mirrors love me."
Matt offered his answer next. "I said Mitch's most annoying habit was that he and Scott watch Spongebob all the time."
"You watch it with us!" Scott problaimed. "We usually watch the Spongebob movie at least once every tour, and Matt watched it with us this time. He was just as interested in it as we were."
"Scott, would you like to explain your answer?"
Scott blushed and ran a hand through his hair. "I said that Mitch didn't have an annoying habit because he's perfect."
Matt fake gagged while Kirstie cooed. Mitch gazed into Scott's eyes and smiled. "Thanks, hunty. I love you, too."
They might not be incredibly public about their relationship, but that did not mean they had to refrain from flirting with one another. The two men loved to flirt. A lot. And often.
"Okay, last but not least, this will be a majority rules question. I don't mean to incite any drama, but who's the best singer?"
The four wasted no time in writing on their boards. They glanced at each other, playfully trying to see answers before time was called. Scott pretended to debate his answer before deciding against it. Matt did a little dance in his seat to entertain himself.
"All right, let's see these responses."
Matt, Kirstie, and Scott had written Mitch. Mitch had written Kirstie.
"Scott, bro, you said Mitch again. We were supposed to make this one a tie, remember?" Matt joked.
Scott shrugged and glanced Mitch's way. "He's always my first choice."
Kirstie poked Matt's arm. "Yeah, Matt, you should know this by now!"
With that, they concluded the interview. As soon as they were out of sight of the press people, Mitch grabbed Scott by the collar and planted a hard kiss on his lips. Scott's arms wrapped tightly around Mitch's waist, lifting the shorter male up slightly to make it easier on him. "What was that for?" Scott asked, nearly breathless when Mitch pulled back from the kiss.
Mitch smiled. "Just for you being you. By the way, you're my first choice, too."
