Lucas's POV

"I cheated on you."

Pressing pause on 2k, I looked up at Jazmyn.

"What?" I asked, trying to see if I heard her right.

"I cheated on you." She repeated.

Pressing play on the game, I shook my head.

"That ain't nothing to play about."

"That's why I'm not playing Lucas. I regret it, I do. But I don't want to sit here and lie in your face."

Looking into her eyes, I knew she was telling the truth.

"Why would you do that?" I asked as I stood up.
"What possibly could've went through your mind to make you cheat on me? Huh?!" I yelled.
She just closed her eyes and shook her head.

"I didn't mean to, I was talking to him and he kissed me and then I kissed back. I was drunk and it just happened."

"How you get drunk at sixteen Jaz?"

"It was a party." She quickly defended herself.
I chuckled bitterly before walking to my front door.

"Get out." I told her.

"Lucas, come on, it was a mistake. I can make it up to you." She told me as she tried to kiss me.

"Jazmyn get the f*ck outta my house!" I yelled, causing her to jump and leave quickly.

Slamming the door shut, I punched the wall out of frustration.

"F*ck man!"

I guess that's the first time I have ever been "heartbroken."

The first and the last.

It's been six years since Jazmyn cheated. I haven't seen her since then and to be honest, I don't want to.

"Hello sir, would you like to try our new apple glazed donut?"

Shrugging, I pulled out a twenty from my wallet.

"Sure. Uh....let me get a number five with a sprite and Polynesian sauce."

"Alright, will that be all?" She asked with a small smile.

"Yeah. That's all."
I paid for my food and and went to the pick up area to wait.

Scrolling throw my messages, one in particular caught my eye.

404-555-8618: Hey Luc, I know it's been a while but....I miss you.

I froze. I know this number by heart but it was the last one I was expecting to see.

"Lucas? your orders ready."
Snapping my head up, I saw the cashier reading my name on the bag.

"I hope I pronounced that right." She mumbled.

"There's no other way to pronounce it." I told her with a chuckle.

She smiled, slightly embarrassed before handing me my food.

"Have a nice day." She waved.

"You too."

Shaking off the effects the text I received had on me, I sat at a empty table by the window.
