Chapter 9

********** Freya's P.O.V ************

"This is Freya Keller, a Sous Chef, Stella's friend" Winona Mace introduced me to this tall guy in a grey suit with a smirk on her face . "Miss Keller this is.. you might have already know, the one and only Lucas Weissman, heir of the Weissman group of industries, Gavin's best friend and my boyfriend".

"Former boyfriend" Gavin chuckled. Winona glared. 

His face looks so familiar, I've definitely seen him somewhere. Maybe just like Gavin, I might have seen him on magazine covers or something. After all, wealthy people are everywhere. 

Breaking my chain of thoughts, I extended my hand out of courtesy to Gavin's bestie, Weissman.

Such an arrogant jerk he was! He shoved his hands into his pockets all this time and didn't even bother to accept my handshake. He just nodded and left the conversation abruptly. 

I never knew Stella's boyfriend is a billionaire and he left his family's fortune to lead a common life. Nevertheless I'm very happy that a beautiful person like Stella is getting married to a lovely person like Gavin.

Everyone's gathered around the cake and waiting for the birthday girl. When she cut the first piece there lies the black box of endless happiness hidden inside the cake. Gavin took out the ring from the box and went on his knees.

"Stella Strawford, the first time I saw you I knew you are the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. Thank you for such an amazing two years, you've been there in my highs and lows. You are my angel. I want to make you happy every second for the rest of our lives and make you mine, only mine with this ring. Will you marry me baby? " Gavin proposed in a cute yet sincere way.

"Baby yes yes yes, even in next life yes" she knelt down and embraced Gavin and drenched him in a rain of kisses.

"Everyone in the crowd went Awww" but I see a few people biting their lips and rolling their eyes in jealousy. 

********** Lucas's P.O.V **********

What this hideous woman is doing here? It's Winona who pulled me and how dare she introduced me as her boyfriend!

I feel like I'm at the edge of the cliff and about to face my end in any second. I can see Freya's creased eyebrows. Shit! I shoved my hands into my pockets immediately as it would be a dead give away if she sees my bandages. My face went pale and I can feel the cold sweat running down my spine.

Wait, Freya extended her hand after Winona introduced us. she didn't recognize me after all considering the fact that her hand didn't end up on my cheek. I could't accept her hand as my identity is at stake. I nodded and left the place in a hurry because I don't want to push my luck as still there's a chance she might figure out that I am Leo.

Robert dropped me at my penthouse. It's midnight, I heard loud bangs on my door. Alexa notified me that Gavin is waiting outside and I opened the door.

"You are impossible Lucas Weissman! you missed my moment, you jerk" Gavin poked my chest with his fore finger.

"You are impossible too Gavin Star, you fuckin invited my ex to the party!"

"Shut the fuck up you asshole, is there anyone else in our friends circle whom you haven't slept with? It's your fault! " Gavin flared up at me.

"You should've told me that she is your girl friend's bestie for fuckin god's sake Gavin" I rose like a cobra ready to strike.

"Who"? Gavin looked confused.

"Freya, Freya Keller!"

"What about her?", he shrugged.

"It's her! She's the one I changed my identity for!" I couldn't control my anger.

"I didn't know it was her" 

"you knew her name's Freya, that's how you know you idiot" !

"Oh common for fucking Christ's sake! Now stop the bull shit you're sprouting out. How am I supposed to know that this Freya is that Freya? Besides today's the first time I've ever met her, I haven't had the slightest idea that Stella and Freya are friends"!!!

"Consider yourself lucky that she didn't recognize me otherwise you'd be a dead meat by now".

"You know what, can you even call yourself my friend anymore? You just ruined my best day, making me account for your mistakes, sick bastard, goodbye to you and your friendship" Gavin shut the door leaving me behind.
