Luke's house

I walked out of the hospital and got in the truck where Luke was waiting. He drove off without saying a word and we sat in an awkward silence all the way to his house. We pulled into his driveway, his house was huge, 2-3 stories high, grey siding with white trimming. Marble countertops and white walls in nearly every room. I didn’t say anything about how nice it was so we just continued walking into his room. We set our bags down by the door and then we started to work on math. After about 20 minutes of working, we heard the front door open. “Luke, I’m home!” yelled a very soft voice, “My moms home. Do you want to go downstairs to meet her?” Luke asked, “Of course I do!” I said. So we got up of his bedroom and walked down the stairs where I saw a very tiny woman with straight, short, black hair, and the most beautiful blue eyes. “Well hello, i’m Kelly, Luke’s mom.” she said, “Nice to meet you i’m Alyx.” I said, “Oh, so you’re the girl Luke never stops talking about, huh? You are way prettier than he describes you.” She said with a smile that showed her perfectly straight and white teeth. “Thanks! I can see where Luke gets his good looks from.” I said with a laugh, “Well it was very nice to see you, I hope I will see more of you. It’s not often he brings home a girl.” said Kelly.

We walked back upstairs and continued to do our homework, until a thought crossed my mind. “Where is your dad..?” I blurted out without even realizing, “Oh, I don’t see him much. My parents got divorced because he cheated on her, and once she confronted him about it, he started abusing her. So my mom decided we had to leave before he started getting worse than that.” Luke said. I just gave him a head nod that meant “Ohh I get it.” Then I went back to my work. After about 5 minutes I realized that Luke was staring at me, “Why are you staring at me?” I said with a laugh, “You’re just so beautiful.” Luke said smiling. Then I felt the warmth of his lips press against mine. It was like time stopped and it was just him and I. All of the sudden we stopped because my phone started going off, I checked it.

-”Alyx what time are you coming home? What do you want for dinner?”

-”20 minutes. And chinese food.”

I told Luke I had to go home. I grabbed my stuff and we walked out to his truck.

“Are you going to the party Saturday?” he asked, “Oh yeah tomorrow's Friday! And yes. But I have a birthday party Sunday.” I said, “Oh, who’s party?” He questioned, “Mine.” I said, “What do you want for your birthday then?” He said smiling, “I don’t want anything.” I answered.
