Dream World.
While admiring the sky, my thoughts trail with the memories I've made during the last year until recently.
"Something happened?"
His voice breaks me out of my trance.
"Hmm?"
His blue eyes watch me warmly. "You're smiling."
"Yes. I'm surrounded by kindness, sometimes it made me wonder if I deserve it."
I stare back at the blue sky.
He moves closer to my side. "And me?"
"You even more so. I'm scared it would all be taken away from me."
"Even if you lose everything, you will always have me."
He clasps our hands.
We look to each other's eyes and I lightly laugh.
I say to him. "You're so cringey."
"Cringey?" He stares at me with a puzzling look.
"It means embarrassing."
He smiles and pats my head like he always does.
"You're working late today as well?" I stroke his face. "Don't exert yourself too much."
He takes my hand to his cheek and closes his eyes.
"Recharging?"
I explained what the word means to him before. He kisses my palm.
"Better?" I ask.
"Yes, but it's never enough." He whispers.
I question his behaviour.
"Sometimes I wonder if this is how you treat your friends."
He opens his eyes with a sad look. "Only to you."
I gently press my other hand on his beating heart.
"I'm right here. You know that."
When the dream is ending, I give him my assurance by whispering his name.
"Leon."
Leon wakes up in his room. A tear escapes his eyes.
"That was unfair." He mumbles to himself.
Captain Woolfe of the Imperial Army Second Unit wears his uniform neatly. Before he leaves, he looks in the mirror. Even though he's been catching up with paper works in his office after returning from their mission, the tiredness isn't evident from his face.
"As though she's been by my side the whole time."
Leon feels a sense of calmness merely thinking about her. It reminds him of the lady from Kirashira Village. He frowns, not because his heart is conflicted but towards the similarity between those two. The aura they exude is one of the same. He's able to perceive it during the short time he stayed there. Could it be? He did encounter them on the very same day.
The bell chimes. Captain Leon put aside his suspicion for now and step out of his room wearing his trademark stone-cold face.
