3. River

Clarke
We trudged through dirt and sticks, occasionally tripping over the loose root.

"I'm really curious how you two got locked up." Finn directed towards Jasper and Monty.

"Lets just say Sumac wasn't the only plant." They looked at eachother, smiling.

"Come on guys, hurry up." I hated to be the boring one but we needed to get over to Mount Weather before we starved to death, i mean none of us know how to exactly hunt.

They all ran up to me so we were walking at the same pace. Jasper walked up a little further, accompanied by Monty, leaving me and Finn behind.

"How can you ignore all of this?" He asked he looked around at the glowing green leaves and pretty colored plants. I looked over to him and frowned.

"Im worried." He looked over to me and raised an eyebrow.

"Don't you wonder why we haven't seen any animals? Maybe we have already been exposed to enough radiation to kill us." I sighed. He went to speak but Jaspers voice startled us.

"Wow, i love earth." He laughed. Me and Finn ran over to Monty and Jasper, looking for the source of interest. It wasn't hard to guess what he was looking at.

Octavia stood at the edge of a river bank, stripping off her clothes until she was in her underwear and tank top.

"Octavia what are you doing?" I shouted to her, she looked my way and smiled taking another step closer and jumping in. Droplets of water erupted from the river, drenching her silky black hair in moisture.

"There isn't supposed to be a river here..." I whispered to Finn. He smirked at me and winked.

"Well there is, so take off your damn clothes." He said pulling off his vest. I looked over to Jasper and Monty noticing they started following Octavias steps.

I laughed at them and started undressing myself, placing my care pack down by the rocks.

"Octavia get out of the water!" Jasper yelled. I looked up and saw a bulge of water moving gradually faster towards her. I ran to the edge of the water, kneeling down and extending my arm for her to grab.

She took my hand but as i was pulling her up the sea creature dragged her leg underwater. She submerged underneath the water and without thinking i jumped in after her, i wasn't letting my bestfriend die.

"Clarke what are you doing?!" I heard Finn yell from the rocks. I wiped the hair from my face and looked around for Octavia but i couldn't see her.

Second later a body jumped up from the water screaming.

"H-Help, Help!" She screamed. I rushed over to her trying not to drown myself. I grabbed onto her arm and started yanking her towards the shore.

I couldn't get her free and i was starting to get tired but soon after i heard a splash from behind me. The creature let go and swam off towards the noise. I was able to pull Octavia back to the shore, pushing her up before the thing came back. I was pushing myself up the rocks when i felt something sharp dig into my leg.

I let out a scream but instead of noise coming out, my mouth filled with water. I flung my arms about trying to scare the thing away but i was stuck in Octavias situation. I thought this was the end for me, i would die knowing i had rescued my friend and i was okay with that. I started becoming dizzy when i felt a firm hand grip on my arm and pull me out.

I felt the air resurface in me but i also felt my skin rip through the creatures teeth. I screamed in pain but soon enough all i could feel was the sun on my skin.

I hazily opened my eyes, the sun blinding me. I wiped away the water and hair from my face as i regained full conciseness. I went to speak but i flipped to my side and coughed up water that i had swallowed.

"Ughh." I moaned. I sat up right and looked down at my leg. Blood had drenched my pants and from what i could tell there were three deeps cuts running down my thigh.

"I-I'm gonna need stiches." I coughed up. I looked over to the group of people that had spread themselves between Octavia and I. I noticed a figure knelt beside me and i couldn't help but gasp.

"What are you going here?" I tried to yell but my voice was to sore. He looked down at the floor, then back up to me.

"You should be thanking me princess." He nervously laughed. I rolled my eyes and scowled at him.

"Thank you? For what, Bellamy? Breaking my heart." I tried so hard not to cry, not that it would be recognizable through the water drenching my body. He swallowed hard, his adams apple bobbing up and down.

"Im sorry Clarke, I didn't mean what i said to you i was just caught up in the moment. I love you so much." He tried to lean in and kiss me but i moved back, as much as i missed him, I wasn't ready to forgive him.

I stared into his eyes trying to find any hint of a lie but all i could see was pain.

"Hey, you okay?" A voice interrupted us.

"Im great." I sarcastically said and Finn laughed a little. I could see Bellamy clench his fists and his jaw tighten. I brushed my hand over his telling him to calm down. He looked at me and took a breath in and out.

"Help me up." I commanded both of them. They each took one arm and flung it over their shoulders. I groaned in pain as i had to use my leg to get up.

"Why are you here Bellamy?" I asked as i directed my focus on the path ahead.

"I followed you after hearing Wells say you guys were going. I needed to know you were safe and good thing i came." He half-smiled. I didn't laugh or smile instead i felt myself frown.

This man cared so much for me and all i do is cause problems for him. Take the incident on the Ark for example.

"Im sorry, Bell." I whispered knowing that Finn was listening in to our conversation.

"For what?" He snapped his head towards me and knitted his eyebrows together.

"For miss-judging you. All i do is create problems in your life and for that, i forgive you about what you said to me." I smiled a genuine smile to him. I could see Finn roll his eyes but I didn't care, i loved Bellamy and i wanted him to know in every way shape and form.
