Dear Journal,

Regret and guilt are on the same frequency of pain. Regret and guilt both make your stomach churn and swirl. They make your throat close and your heart feel like it's collapsing in on itself. As if guilt and regret can grow like weed roots around your heart, squeezing it. Entangling itself around your lungs, stealing the air. Making every breath feel like needles being inhaled. But they are products of our doing. And I think that's what makes regret and guilt so intoxicatingly painful.
