Red and Blue: 11

~the coffee shop~

"What happened to you?" Lauren asked Lucy. She hadn't seen or spoken to the girl since the visit at the hospital.

"I wanted more information about what happened that day. It was all so random." Lucy says. She took a big sip of her coffee.

"And what did you find?"

"Miami." Lucy says lowly. "Ally found out that someone from Miami pays someone to kill anyone that has anything to do with the red and blue case."

"Why am I not in the hospital?" Lauren asked.

"See that's the problem. Mani and I were talking about this whole case and we saw a pattern. Every officer that worked on the case died within three days of being assigned the case. You and Harry have officially become the longest to stay alive."

Lauren thought about it. She did notice that nobody seemed to be trying to kill her. She even left her door unlocked last night just to see if anyone would walk in. Fortunately nobody walked in.

"I want to know who did this." Lauren says.

"One more thing." Lucy looked around the shop. "I asked around about your little friend Camila and guess what?"

"What?"

"She moved here a week after you did. She has no family here, hell as far as anyone knows she's a ghost." Lucy dipped her head a little to whisper to Lauren. "The girl has no record before her move here. It's as if she just magically appeared."

"You think she has anything to do with this?" Lauren asked Lucy.

"I don't know. She seems very smitten by you. I doubt she has anything to do with this." Lucy says. She looked at her watch.

"That's the third time you've checked your watch, are you late for something?" Lauren asked.

"That couple two seats behind us came in here before I did, that was a hour ago. They have yet to move or even talk." Lucy says. Lauren leaned to the side a little and noticed the couple. She couldn't see the face of the female but she did see the boy.

He had his eyes trained on the menu and seemed to be looking at it quite hard. She couldn't see the girl's face but she did see that the girl had a phone in her hand.

"What's the plan?" Lauren asked.

"No plan. You go to the hospital with Harry and I'll distract those two." Lucy gathered her things.

"Wait." Lauren says. "Remember what I told you about the hospital, the people that ran once the police got there?"

Lucy nodded her head. Lauren had told her all about the call she got from Casper saying he and Harry were in danger, she told Lucy about the many police cars outside of the hospital and even thinking she had saw Camila there. Lucy had made little comments on what she thought was going on, but to Lauren it was all so crazy.

"What about it?" Lucy asked.

"After all of that I called Camila right away. I thought that I was going to catch the girl in a lie or something, we even have a date." Lauren stopped talking and looked at Lucy. "I've never been on a date with a girl."

"Yes you have." Lucy says. "With me...remember that one night where we-"

"That wasn't a date. That was you seducing me, and I let you."

"How do you know what night I was talking about?" Lucy asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Because whenever you and I are alone at night there is never any talking." Lauren says.
