she feared she would lose something she loved

-

violet's pov;

Will noticed that my expression had changed as soon as my phone call ended.

"What's wrong? Everything okay?" he asks.

"No. Um, I gotta go. It's really important otherwise I wouldn't leave you so soon." I say, my tone sad. I look at him with a look of sympathy on my face.

"Don't worry. It's fine." he says, pulling me into a hug. I could feel the panic running through my veins and I never felt more scared to lose a person before.

"Thank you. I promise I'll make it up to you." I say, hugging him back.

"Hey, I'm just glad that means they'll be a second date." he smiles, trying to lighten the situation. I felt bad for leaving him because he had put the most effort into a simple date, that I had ever seen.

"You're the best, you know that?" I say, looking at his warm brown eyes.

He chuckles lightly, "I know."

"C'mon, I'll drop you home." he says, putting his arm around my shoulder as we begin to walk out of the gallery.

"Thank you." I smile.

After Will drops me home, I hop into my car as Grayson texts me the hospital that he was at. I was worried. I could lose him. His own twin brother could lose him. Everyone who cared about him could lose him and I'm afraid I was a part of them.

I ask the receptionist for directions towards the particular area of the hospital he was in, before I met Grayson outside, pacing back and fourth as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"I'm so glad you're here." he says, hugging me. He was practically shaking.

"How is he?" I ask. I needed to see how he was. I needed to know he was okay.

"They haven't let me in to see him yet." he says, his eyes looking towards the window that had blinds placed over them.

I could see Ethan's body as the doctor's surrounded him. I felt my heart pang. I couldn't lose him. I stared at the equipment surrounding him. I hated hospitals so much.

"Have you called your parents?" I ask Grayson. He shakes his head.

"Do it Gray. They need to know." I say. He nods his head, pulling his phone out of his pocket. I stare through the glass as I see the monitor beeping. He was alive. He was breathing.

The doctor comes outside to tell Grayson and I the news.

"He is fine however, he has multiple broken bones as well as a concussion due to the heavy impact. He is heavily sedated at the moment and will be going into surgery shortly." he explains.

"How long will the surgery take?" I ask.

"Around 2 hours." he replies.

"Okay." I say. I zone out of the conversation Grayson and the doctor were having, sitting down on the seats outside his room.

I see Sean and Lisa walking in, their faces worried. Lisa had looked like she had started crying. She walks up to Grayson as he explains everything that the doctor said to him.

Lisa sits down next to me, her arm wrapping around my shoulder as he pulls me closer to her. I hug her back in order to comfort her.

"It's going to be okay." I whisper, unable to believe it myself. I wanted to see him. I needed him to come to me and say it was all just a massive prank. But he didn't. And it wasn't a prank either.
