violet's pov;

Finals week was probably the most stressful I had ever been however, it was now over, thank goodness.

Ethan was even more stressed than me however, I calmed him down, or at least I thought I helped.

"We're going out tonight. Finals week is finally fucking over. Wear a dress. I'll pick you up at 8." Ethan says, as we walk out of school.

"8?" I question. "What makes you think that my father would let me go out at 8?" I say.

"Because he knows you're with me." he smiles, putting his arm around my shoulder.

"How did you think that you did on the exam?" I ask, as Ethan drives me to my house.

"Um, it was okay. Not going to lie, I think I did pretty shit on literally all of them." Ethan says.

"I'm sure that's not true. At all." I say.

"I guess we'll find out." he sighs. Ethan has been pretty off lately and I keep finding ways to occupy my mind and saying that it's nothing. What if it really something?

ethan's pov;

"E. You need to tell her right now." Grayson says, staring at me as I get ready to pick up Violet for our date.

I was feeling really guilty about the whole thing. Violet and I hadn't touched each other in over a whole month, and it was my fault.

"I will. I just don't know how I'm going to okay? We graduate soon Gray. Her dream college is in freaking New York. I don't want to lose her thats soon." I say.

"Ethan. I know. But is it better if you can't admit what you did? Even if it was a mistake? Don't you think she deserves to know the truth?" he says.

"Yes I fucking do Grayson!" I snap. "I don't want to hurt her. I've already done it enough." I sigh, running my hands through my hair.

Why was I being so fucking reckless that night?

"Have fun on your date bro." Grayson says, shaking his head as he walks away. He was disappointed in me and to be completely honest, I was too.

I manage to fuck up the best thing in my life because of one night when I was drunk.

I hop in my car, looking in the mirror at my hair and adjusting the shirt that I was wearing. As I started to drive there, my mind kept flashing to how crushed Violet would feel if I told her.

I finally reached her house, knocking on the door, waiting for Violet to answer. Her dad was at work however he should be home right now.

The door opened, revealing Violet and damn. She looked incredible. I looked her up and down at the blue velvet dress that was wrapped around her gorgeous body. Her hair was straightened as hoops hung from her ears. She looked absolutely stunning.

"You look

"You look..." I start, but I can't seem to find the right word. "..breath-taking."

She smiles at me as her cheeks flash a subtle shade of red.

"Don't look to bad yourself babe." she smiles. She grabs her purse, locking the door before heading out.

"Where are we going then?" she questions. I look at her innocent eyes then down to her plump lips which were coated with lipgloss.

"Keep your eyes on the road, Ethan!" she says, making my head turn to the road again.

"Sorry." I smile. He make small talk until we reach the restaurant that I had made our booking at. It was a beautiful one. Quite small, however, it was fancy and served some of the best food.

We got out the car, walking into the restaurant.

"Name?"

"Dolan." I answered the woman. She smiled, looking between the both of us as she took us to our table. It was on a balcony and fairy lights hung from the roof.

"This is amazing." she smiles, sitting down. The waiter gives us our menus, as we flick through them. I glance up to look at Violet, my guilty conscious showing once more.

"What are you going to get?" she asks. I tell her my classic and she smiles, wanting to order the same. The waitress comes to our table and I order our food for us.

Once she goes, Violet's eyes focus on me again.

"What's wrong? You've been distant." she says.

"Nothing V. I'n fine." I smile.

"No Ethan. We haven't even spoke to each other properly since you went to that party which was literally a week after we started dating." she says. She was right.

"No. That's not true." I say, my mind suddenly trying to find some sort of defence.

"No? Okay. What about the fact that we used to fuck more when you actually had a girlfriend? We haven't even touched each other since we started dating Ethan. That's unusual for both of us." she says.

"That was because of my broken arm Violet." I say.

"No. That isn't something that has stopped you before." she says.

I sigh, reaching my climax. I should tell her the truth. That's what Grayson said right?

"I cheated." the words leave my mouth, sooner than I can process it.

I watch as Violet's expression changes, her features saddening as she stares at the table.

"When?" she asks, her voice trembling slightly.

Fuck. I'm such an asshole. I can't even look at her. I just broke her heart into a million pieces.

"It was at the party Violet. I was drunk and I didn't know what even happened, please. You have to believe me." I say.

"Who with?" she asks.

My eyes close with regret as the one name she absolutely hated leaves my mouth.

"Alicia."

She shakes her head, scoffing as her eyes begin to turn glossy.

"Fuck you." is all she says before leaving the restaurant. I look around to see people staring at us as the waiter brings food to our table. I put money on the table along with a tip.

Shit.

I fucked up.

Bad.
