"I'm a father?" was the first thing Asuma said as the scene ended.
"Wait, what happened to the other guy?" Ten-Ten asked.
"I assume the explosion had something to do with it" Neji said.
"What was that that technique?" Gai asked curiously.
"You mean the blue fire?" Inochi inquired. Gai nodded his head.
"I don't know. I've never seen fire like that before." Kakashi commented.
"Maybe its a kekkei genkai" Shikaku suggested.
"The only way we would found out is if we asked Kitsune himself" Choza replied.
"I doubt that would happen. Kitsune is a very private person and doesn't speak much." Hiruzen said. "I rarely even see him."
As Kakashi was about to ask another question, the screen flicked blue again, projecting another moment of Shikamaru's future.
Eighteen year old Shikamaru Nara was currently walking down the street at a sedated pace, maneuvering through the bustling crowd of the busy streets of Konoha. He had a resigned look on his face as he put both hands on in his pockets and his lips slowly turned downwards in a frown. He had just been asked by the newly appointed, Rokudaime Hokage, to be his advisor. The shocker was, it was Itachi Uchiha, the Uchiha clan murderer himself.
He had to admit was a little surprised at the request. It's not like they knew each well or anything. Hell, they haven't even had a conversation or shared a drink with each other yet. And still, he personally requests him. He thought he would have chose someone like Sasuke to fill the position, but much to his surprise, Sasuke had decided to stay in the ANBU. As a matter of fact, it was Sasuke who recommended him. However, that wasn't the main shocker of his day.
No the biggest shocker was word of Naruto's inheritance. Who knew he was the son of the Fourth Hokage? News had been spreading like a wildfire every since he took out Kabuto and the leader of the Atatsuki,who's name is still not known. Even though how Naruto did it, he did not know. After the two month war, everyone returned to their respective villages, fixing whatever damages had been done. Everything finally seemed to be at peace and for once and Shikamaru felt like he could finally relax a little.
"Troublesome......" he said to himself as he went inside a bar.
He went to the bar and ordered a dish of sake before pulling a pack of cigarettes from his jacket pocket. He took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth after grabbing his lighter. He lit his cigarette and put the lighter back in his pocket, taking a drag. He closed his eyes as he as he drawled from his cigarette. Smoking helped him clear his head and allowed him to think with clarity. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice someone taking a seat next to him.
"Long day?" he heard a feminine voice graced his ears.
