Naruto and Hiruzen sat facing each other. No one saying anything to the other. They just sat there in silence, thoughts running through both of their minds. It was like this for several minutes until Lord Third decided to break the ice, seeing that Naruto wasn't going to say anything.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Hiruzen said.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Naruto snapped.

"Naruto, I-" Hiruzen started.

"I'm not talking about my parents, Hokage-sama." Naruto interrupted. Seeing the Hokage's confused expression, Naruto continued. "I'm talking about the Kyubi and my status as a jinchuriki. Why is that everyone else knew except for the one that was supposed know?"

Hiruzen sighed. "Naruto you were too young. You weren't ready to know. Being a jinchuriki is a big responsibilty." he said. Naruto scoffed at this.

"Just like I'm too young to know now, ne? Tell me, Hokage-sama, when were you going to finally tell me. When my life is on the line at the mercy of the villagers or on a mission, or was I going to have to continue living in ignorance of what was sealed inside me." Naruto said coldly. "You know its sad that I had to find out from those who hated me of what I was instead of from the mouth of my own jiji."

The Third put his head down. He could see how hurt Naruto was by it. He had did for his own protection and thought it was the right thing to do. Now, he could see that it was a mistake and that it hurt the boy more.

"Do know what its like being a 6 year old and wondering why parents didn't want their children playing with me. Why everyone sent me glares and stares of hate? Why there was such malice in their voice when they would speak to me." Naruto continued.

"Do you know what its like to live in that confusion. Not knowing why a mere child would be treated in such a way. Wondering what I did to deserve such a fate. I even went to my own jiji. The man who was the only one to have ever shown me love and compassion. And what did you do? You lied to me, Hokage-sama. You lied to me right in my face and didn't think I would understand." Naruto said with tears flowing down his eyes. "You didn't think I was smart enough to piece together what the villagers said about me? How they would call me demon, kyubi, or the one that destroyed the village and killed their family? Did you not think I'd realize the close resemblance me and the Fourth had?"

"No." Naruto stated, wiping his eyes. He wasn't going to cry about this anymore. He had coped with how his life was going to be and had adjusted himself accordingly. What's done is done and there was nothing him or anyone could do about it. "No. You thought I was some naive child who didn't know any better. You thought I was an idiot just like everyone else. But, you wanna know something, Hokage-sama?" he asked.

Hiruzen looked up at his pseudo-grandchild who currently had tear stains on his cheek. He could tell that he was hurt and broken. And it was all his fault. This made the Hokage feel even more guilty and sad for the young jinchuriki. He nodded his head motioning for the boy to continue.

"I do not regret anything I've went through." Naruto stated, causing the Hokage to look at him slightly confused as to what the blonde was talking about. "I wouldn't be who I am today if it weren't for those experiences. It was hard, that is true, but in the end, it only made me stronger."

The Third sighed, his guilty conscious eating him up. "I'm sorry Naruto." Hiruzen started. "You were supposed to be seen as a village hero. I didn't mean for your life to turn out like this."

"Yeah, well not everything works out the way its supposed to."Naruto commented. There was another silence in the room. Hiruzen didn't exactly know what to say to the blonde. He didn't know if there was anything he could say to make things better.
