"OH GOOD LORD!!!"
Seungwan cried out as she looked at the alarm clock. It was already 12:00 and she still hadn't started preparing the lunch she had to give today.
It would only be true to say that she moved with the speed of light in the next fifteen minutes ,
as she freshened up and changed her pj's and went towards the kitchen.
3+ years of practice came to use as she skillfully chopped the the vegetables while at the same time,
the marinated meat slice sizzled over the stove, spreading a delicious aroma all over the kitchen as the meat absorbed the flavor each and every one of the spices.
Removing the meat from the frying pan,
she started to slightly sauté the vegetables while putting another pan on the next stove to fry the egg yolk and white she had separated earlier.
Removing the egg and then letting the vegetables brown up a little,
she quickly drained and rinsed the boiled glass noodles before putting in the seasoning and letting it marinate before lightly frying then in the pan.
As soon as the vegetables were done , Seungwan started moving them all step by step.
Once done, she carefully transferred them to the air tight tiffin she had purchased earlier.
"Riingg "
She suddenly heard the bell ring.Somehow looking at the quickly prepared lunch, she felt apologetic and once again letting her guilt take over, she quickly tore a piece of paper and scribbled a note,
folding it and putting it in a small zip up pouch before placing it on the upper compartment of the box's lid.
"Riiinngggg"
She rushed to the door before the bell sound ended.
"Sorry"
She smiled apologizingly as she open the door to face a boy, in late teens look back at her with a bored expression."No prob. "
He said in the same bored tone before taking the lunchbox, placing it in his bag and waking away. She stood at the door for a moment, looking at the boy walking away before closing the door, once again moving back to her warm living room as she gave herself a moment to breath.
------------
"Rriinngg "
"Min yoongi here ."
"Sir a lunch delivery for you has come"
The receptionist spoke in her polite work voice."Send it upstairs. And also from tomorrow onwards, don't call just send the delivery directly to my office.
I have arranged it myself. "
He said before keeping the receiver back to where it was before turning back to his papers. And within hardly five minutes, he heard a knock on his cabin door .
The delivery boy didn't speak much as he placed the lunch box on the sofa table before leaving.
Yoongi looked at the modern wall clock to his left.
It had already struck two, and the slow grumbling of his stomach convinced him it was indeed time he satisfied it's hunger.
Opening the tiffin, the first thing that greeted him was the delicious aroma of the freshly prepared meat and vegetables.
Taking the first bite, he could really feel how juicy the meat was.
It was marinated to perfection while the vegetables were properly sauteed.
The glass noodles were just how he liked.
He had almost finished the lunch box when he found a small zip up pouch stuck to the lid .
Taking the last bite of his food, he opened up the pouch to find a small note.
It looked hastily written, but the handwriting was neat.
"I'm really sorry if it is not good, this is my first time in the job and I was not able to do it to the best of my abilities.
I'm genuinely sorry.
W"
The note was very short, and suddenly for a split second, he felt like he was obligated to write a reply.
Acting on that, he grabbed a pen and wrote on the back of the note itself.
Just as he was closing the lid, he heard a knock on his door, revealing the delivery boy who had come earlier ,
He had come to retrieve the tiffin back.
.
.
.
.
.It was already six in the evening when Seungwan got a call.
It was the pick up boy. He had called to ask her to open the door.
Telling him to leave the box at the door she cut the call and went back to serving the dishes to table 3.
She was already at her part time job. The lady had been right. The place was indeed crowded.
It took her three more hours to finish her shift.
She was more tired than she thought as she'd be as she reached her apartment.
Working in a busy resturant was indeed exhausting.
Walking in, she threw her bag on the couch while she took the tiffin she had picked up from the doorstep to the sink.
There were few dishes from morning.
She began washing them one by one. She was surprised to find the note still there.
After having finished washing all the dishes, she took the note and sat on the kitchen table with a cup of cinnamon tea.
It was written in a small writing, s short note just like hers.
She was surprised that the person had actually thought of writing a reply.
"Despite what you said, the food was delicious, I really liked it. Thank you.
Y"
The note was very short and blunt, but the sincerity was evident.
And somehow , knowing that he or she liked the food that she had prepared, felt good.
The fact that after so long, she had been truly appreciated for something she did warmed her heart.
That night, after a long time she felt good as she fell asleep with a smile on her face.
