"Miss, we don't hire people older than twenty one... "
The lady gave an awkward smile while at the same time glancing her up and down.

It wasn't the age, she knew it was her weight, her appearance , after all she was someone who was above the ideal weight system in her country. It was already the third place that rejected her.

"It's okay ma'am, thank you. "
She gave a bow before walking out of the cafe.

It had taken up a lot of courage for her to venture out into the world, which she had been closed off from three years ago.

But she couldn't no more be in her comfort zone, her savings were running out and she needed money to survive, and no matter what she had to find a job today.

She was crossing the road near her apartment when she saw the Ahjumma from the tteokbokki store put up a notice on the glass door.

She narrowed her eyes to focus on it as she was slowly walking towards it.

It felt like heaven sent help for Seungwan as she rushed into the restaurant out of breath, afraid to let go of the opportunity.

Hearing the door open , the old woman turned halfway to see a heavily panting young woman who smiled widely looking at her.

"What do you want dear, we are yet to open business. "
She calmly said before filling a glass of cold water for the newly arrived visitor.

*huff* I *huff* *gulp*

She pointed her finger towards the sign the old lady had just put up.

Gulping the water down she took a deep breath to stabilize herself. The sudden excercise had exhausted her, she realized that she was badly out of shape.

"Ahh , so you are here for the part time? "
The lady asked with a small smile etched on her wrinkled face.

"Yes "
She agreed with a nod.

"Do you know your way around the kitchen? Or anything in cooking? If not, I don't think I can hire you..."
The lady was a bit unsure by her last words.

"Ah, I know how to cook food, not like a professional but yeah I know my way around the kitchen. And I love your food, especially the special tteokbokki you make, it's delicious. "
She replied fast, while mentally praying to all the deities she knew to help her get the job.

"Hmmm, okay then, you are hired, though I'll be able to pay you only less... "

"Thats okay, I need this job dearly. I will try my best! "

That's what she had said as she had walked out of the resturant. She had to join tomorrow at one, since that was the time that the business picked up on weekdays and twelve on weekends, since it was expected to be busy days.

It was already eight in the evening and here she was in the nearest convenience store, having a triangle Bibimbap as she looked out on to the street.
