"Let's split it." Ahn told Tang, referring to the bill.

"No, no I couldn't let you pay for it because it's my treat!" Tang insisted "Plus, my mom gives me like a 50% discount. It would be free but I told her I'm not going to take over the shop when she can't anymore. So she's pretty bitter." She joked.

Ahn felt her cheeks warming up. "Well at least let me pay the tip. This isn't a date after all."

Tang didn't think much of it and shook her head. She was persistent and dominant, thats just who she was. "Nope! Now come on," she placed a twenty over the bill while getting up "let's go see what Esme is up to."

Ahn nodded and followed close behind her. "Thank you, for taking me for lunch. I'll repay you soon by making you dinner at my dorm." She was getting her hopes up a bit. Ahn had the hots for Tang ever since she laid eyes on the girl. She wanted to take things slow, and hoped not to ruin their friendship while at the same time making sure Tang knew she was interested. From what she knew, there wasn't anyone else she was seeing, so why couldn't it be her?

"No way, you have a kitchen in your dorm and you're a freshman?!" Tang looked at Ahn with disbelief and excitement while buckling into the driver's seat.

"Mhm." Ahn nodded pleased she could get Tang excited about something that was hers. "So dinner at my place tomorrow okay? I bet it's been a while since you had a home cooked meal."

"God, I love you Ahn!" Tang joked pulling out of the parking lot.

Ahn felt the butterflies in her stomach jump a bit. She reminded herself to calm down. She reminded herself that Tang was just joking and she especially made sure to remind herself to be cautious so her heart couldn't get broken like it did before.

Don't say I love you unless you mean it.

After leaving the motel, I decided to check his room. Tomorrow morning I'd have Psychology again, so he'd have to show up.

At least I hoped he would, I couldn't stand that sleazy substitute. And I was starting to miss him a little. I was either missing him, or the excitement that followed him.

I was heading to my dorm when Tang and Ahn waved in my direction across the hall.

I felt horrible but I acted as if I didn't see them. I would make it up to them later.

I rushed up the stairs to the sixth floor and the 32nd room on the right. I knew this was his dorm because Ryan had gone in there looking for a gun.

I took a deep breath contemplating opening the door but before I could—

"Do you need something Esme? Students aren't permitted on this floor" Mrs.Amber looked at me, confusion washed over her beautiful features.

I took a step back from the door feeling completely startled. My heart must've dropped to my feet.

"I— erm.. well I needed to return this so I was just going to slide it under his door!" I said pulling out a green post-it note from my pocket while simultaneously thanking God Tang had saved me once again. She would always write little jokes on green post-it notes and stick them into my pants pockets in hopes that I would find it and it would brighten my day.

Mrs. Amber looked extremely skeptical. "Well it definitely could've waited until tomorrow morning because a little note isn't worth getting in trouble over. I'll act like I didn't see you here, and don't do it again." Her tone was slightly stern but I knew she was looking out for me.

"Thank you so much Mrs. Amber!"

"Don't thank me, I didn't see you here." She winked at me.

She turned on her heels but before she could walk away I decided to take advantage of our encounter.

"Wait, did you say I could give it to him tomorrow? As in he'd be back by tomorrow?"

She nodded "He called in sick last week but he'll be back tomorrow morning." She took a step towards me and lowered her voice "And between you and me, I'm so thankful for that because his substitute is driving everyone crazy , but don't tell anyone I told you!" She playfully punched my arm. "Take care Esme, I have a meeting to get to."

This time I didn't stop her from leaving and I decided to go back to my dorm as well. I could be patient, I'd see him tomorrow I guess.

My phone buzzed and I wasn't surprised the message was from Tang.

She asked if I was okay, making me realize she was starting to catch on something was up.

I didn't open the message, instead I opened up the messaging app, tapped on Ryan's icon, and started typing up a message to send him.

You were right.

I lied . I saw that he'd read the message I sent which was good. I'd realize right now that if Ryan somehow has some way of "exposing" Mr.Jung then he very well could drag me down with him. My hands were not as dirty, but still dirty none of the less. I could get kicked out of the school for the text messages that asked Ryan to look in Hoseok's room. Things could get complicated if people found out we were at a motel together and who would believe I took him there to dislodge a bullet out of his arm! Whatever proof Ryan has against me, I needed to get it. Because there is no way Mr.Jung is getting locked up for whatever reason before I figure out what's going on... and something tells me it isn't good.
