I placed my lunch down infront of Tang and Ahn.
"You guys know each other?" I asked them before scooping steaming lasagna with a spork.
Ahn shook her head "We just met. She was sitting alone and I asked if she wanted company. She told me she was waiting for you and we realized we had a mutual friend." Ahn smiled at Tang while pushing her pink hair out of her face.
I nodded "Cool." I kept eating and kept my eyes low, he could be anywhere around here.
"Why are you acting weird? Did Ryan break up with you?" Tang asked me, with a tinge if hope in her voice.
"What? No. Ryan and I are fine I'm just a little on edge right now. I don't want to talk about it."
Tang rolled her eyes while sighing and took a bite of her snadwhich. "Im sure whatever you're dealing with Ryan already knows huh?"
"That's not fair, he's my boyfriend."
"That's not fair," she mocked me "You're my best friend."
"Wait, wait, wait." Ahn interjected "Ryan McCree?"
I nodded "You know him?"
She pursed her lips together "He's my cousin."
I nodded "It's a small world."
"And whatever happened with Mr.Jung?"
I shook my head "I don't want to talk about it."
Ahn nodded "Okay, well not trying to make your day worse or anything, but I'd ask if Ryan is seeing someone else at the moment."
I dropped my spork. "What? What do you mean?"
Ahn looked down "You dont know about his reputation?"
"Yes of course I know with only being here for a month now." I said sarcastically.
She backed up "Jeeze."
I shook my head "Sorry, I— I should go."
When I stood up I finally saw him. Mr.Jung wasn't looking at me this time, he was talking to another student; the girl who wanted to take my place as president.
She was very pretty and she had very flirtatious body language. Even I could tell her intentions were just to get in his pants so why was Mr. Jung entertaining her?
I threw away my food and walked straight up to him. "I'm ready to talk now." As soon as I said it I realized it was very dumb. I wasn't supposed to be making rash decisions, this was moving too fast. But I couldn't stand to see him entertaining that hoe. It made me angry.
He noticed.
He acted like he didn't notice me for a couple moments then looked my way "Excuse me Rachel, I'll be talking with Esme for a moment."
Rachel glared at me then left. We were the only two at the table now. I sat down a comfortable distance from him, but it didn't help because I could still smell the fresh and earthy scent he gave off. He was very manly.
"Why did you give up the position as president? You had a good input." He asked me still looking at his computer screen. I guess he wasn't going to try to stare me down to make me buckle like he did last time.
"I... I don't think it would be fitting for me. I actually wanted to ask you a question or two though."
He raised an eyebrow but still didn't look at me "And that is?"
"Why are you acting as if everything is normal? A few days ago you were just begging me to tell me what I knew about you, and now you don't seem to care."
"Esme what are you talking about?" He asked as if he didn't know.
I scoffed taken back "I'm talking about the fact that you want to know what I found out about you online."
He looked at me now "What are you saying? Are you doing this for attention because I never said anything of the sort. I never confronted you and you never found any information about me online."
I blinked, baffled. "No, no that's not true! I can show you. I know about what happened with your dance team... and—and that your name is Jhope! I read it and I know it all up until you turned seventeen." I told him, then realizing a couple seconds later it was a mistake.
My mind clicked. He erased everything. He wanted to make it seem as if I was crazy.
"You have the wrong person." He simply said. His face didn't change when I told him the information I knew about him, and maybe that was because it didn't matter. Maybe since I had nothing to back up my statements I wasn't a concern anymore.
"Mr.Jung you and I both know that you don't add up. You told me you weren't safe. Who's after you?"
He stopped typing and then looked at me "Esme, you're simply making things up. I don't know why or what you're trying to do but this conversation never happened. Should I send you to the nurse?"
I felt my face getting hot "Liar."
"Prove it." He emphasized the "t" in "it".
I opened my mouth to speak but he cut me off.
"And if you think you can send your friend into my dorm to look around for evidence I will have the both of you expelled." He said lowering his voice. "Because breaking into a teachers dorm with no probable cause is a felony."
"We have a probable cause and you know that."
He sighed. "Oh really? I suppose you're inferring the weapon I own? Well you see, Ryan is going to have to suffer the consequences of handling a fire arm on campus."
"What?! But it's yours!" I told him getting angry.
He sighed "Is it?"
I got up feeling lost. I didn't know how to feel about him. He just sat there with a subtle smirk on his face. He was planning something, something I didn't want to know.
Maybe it was time to turn him in.
