So it's been about another week since the whole nightmare incident. I've been staying with Gabby and her parents welcomed me with open arms.I was actually surprised because the only thing that was running through my mind was what Linda had told me when I last spoke to her in person, about me being a burden on Gabby's parents.

So although things have been put aside for a while with Linda the other drama in my life has not calmed down at all. By drama in my other life, I mean Gabby. She has been kind of distant since her fight with Alex. She's been trying to figure out why he's so mad, so even though she's spending time with me I can tell her mind is somewhere else.

I feel really bad though because I feel like it's my fault. I mean I'm the reason she hasn't spent time with him. Yes I still think he's overreacting. But she's done so much for me and I do owe her because really it's all my fault.

Right now it's lunch time and I'm sitting in the locker banks on the opposite side of the commons area. There's a little theatre in the middle of the commons area, where the tables are set up for lunch, and the locker banks for the Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.

I'm eating by myself just because I wanted some alone time. Katie and Natalie invited me to sit with them but I just needed some time to think and they understood that. Gabby went to go find Alex and talk to him.

He had been avoiding her from what she's been telling me. Apparently he was still mad at her and wasn't talking to her whatsoever. The weird thing to me is that I still haven't met the guy yet. Well I have, but not since the accident and Gabby says she wants to mend things between them before she reintroduces me to him.

I agree that I should keep my distance because I think it's me he blames. But as a best friend it's really hard for me because I consider Gabby as my sister. So imagine having your sister date a guy that you've never met before and sounds like a ticking time bomb. Yeah...

I was sitting in the locker banks reading a book I had grabbed from Gabby's room. Apparently, according to Eli, I used to read a lot. He described me as "The bookworm that kept reading even after you turned into a butterfly.".

I was getting to the climax of the story when my book was snatched from my hands and thrown toward the other end of the locker banks. I look up to see a girl, my age, looking down at me with a smirk on her face.

She has medium length black hair and lightly tanned skin just a little darker than mine. She's wearing dark blue jeans with black flats and a maroon shirt with a grey sweater that has lace on the sides.

Her dark brown eyes are shooting daggers at me. But she has an innocent smile on her face now as she puts a hand on her hip and shifts to her left leg. Popping her hip out like those weird sassy girls.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here girls." she says her eyes trained on me.

I look behind her to see two other girls. One of them is Natalie who has a guilty look on her face and looks away as we make eye contact. The other girl has short blond hair and dark blue eyes with thin silver glasses outlining them.

She's wearing skinny jeans with some brown boots that reach mid-calf. She has on a t-shirt that has 'Lady Spartans Tennis' written on the front. Her face matches the first girls having disgust and attitude written all over it.

"Can I help you?" I ask kind of annoyed but trying to be polite at the same time.

"Actually, I'm here to help you you out. " the girl up front says. " My name is Carrie, Carrie Santina. You don't remember me, obviously, but what you need to know is that you are not best friends with Gabby anymore, I am." She says gesturing to herself.
