Two Weeks Later
Haley POV -
"Stop it!" I say with a giggle punching Elijah on the arm.
"Ouch. Violence is not the answer oh young child." he says pointing back at me.
"I'm older than you." I tell him matter of factly.
"By like a week."
"Not even."
"That wasn't a full sentence."
"What are you the grammar police?"
"No that's your job, think of me as the deputy."
"That makes no sense!"
"You guys shut up!" Gabby says interrupting Elijah and I's banter. "You may make a cute couple but my tolerance level has not changed." she says point at us accusingly.
"At least we don't have gross nicknames for each other." I say feeling very grateful that he hasn't called me pooky or something stupid like that at all.
"Aww, come on Haley-poo... I think nick names would be absolutely adorable." he says in a baby voice.
"Heck to the no!" I say. "There is no way I am letting you call me Haley-poo. And no that is not open for discussion."
"Well gee be his mother why don't you." Skye says sitting next to Luca.
"Yeah what she said." Eli says with a kiddy voice.
"Okay don't do that."I say getting super creeped out by his voice.
"Or what?" he asks raising an eyebrow.
"You can consider yourself single again." I say trying not to lose the smirk I have on my face.
"I like you bossy." he whispers in my ear as he leans forward and a blush finds its way onto my face.
"Okay no nasty talk at the table." Skye says.
"Oh please we have to eat while you and Luca basically suck face during lunch."
"We do not suck face." Skye defends.
"Uh babe, we kinda do." Luca says shyly.
"And whose side are you on exactly?" she asks turning to him with her eyebrows raised.
"Well which one am I supposed to be on?"
"Unless you want to be in the single pool with Elijah then you better take my side."
"I am on her side." he says a little louder as if we didn't hear her little threat toward him.
Suddenly out of nowhere Gabby gets up and walks away toward the bathrooms. I look after her not knowing what's wrong with her but know that I need to go talk to her. I look at Eli and he gives me a reassuring nod telling me that I should go talk to her. I stand up and quickly run after Gabby before she can get a chance to disappear off somehwere where no one will be able to find her.
As I'm walking I see a familiar figure leaning against the brick wall closest to the cafeteria and walk up to her slowly. I lean on the wall next to her without saying a word knowing that she would start the conversation just like she always did.
"20 Questions?" she asks knowing that that's the only time we were ever completely honest with each other.
"Whole truth and nothing but the truth?" I ask making sure it was the same agreement we'd had for our previous games.
She just nods and looks down at the ground. Usually when something is too hard for us to talk about we play 20 questions. Really we just start out asking each other weird questions and then ask the one that opens us up the most. After that we kind of merge into a serious talk and find ourselves feeling better.
