Rey sat with her legs crossed and her eyes closed. She focused on the Force, how it moved through her and around her.
Suddenly, a voice penetrated the silence. "Rey."
She opened her eyes to see a towering figure that glowed with a bluish hue. She looked up at him, he was young and handsome with dirty blonde hair that fell to his shoulders and a scar near his right eye.
Rey's brow creased, "who are you?"
"I'm Anakin Skywalker," he replied. "Ben's grandfather."
She didn't reply, she only stared at him. She could see the resemblance now.
"Rey, do you want to know the truth about your parents?" He asked, finally.
She nodded.
"What Ben told you was the truth, but he didn't know the whole story...
...Darren Stargazer was an orphan boy from Jakku, he was strong with the Force and fortunately, the Jedi council found him.
He lived in the Jedi temple being trained by Master Yoda as a youngling. One day he hoped to be a great Jedi. He was almost old enough to be a padawan, but he was afraid that he wouldn't be chosen by one of the Jedi Knights. No one liked him very much, all of the younglings made fun of him because he had come from a junkyard, and he was a scavenger slave."
"I know how that feels," said Rey.
"So do I," said Anakin. Then he continued. "I was the only one who believed in him, because I knew where he had come from and my life before becoming a Jedi wasn't much different.
I often saw the other younglings making fun of him, calling him names, they refused to be his friends. So, every time I came to the Jedi temple I would try to spend as much time with him as I could. I told him the truth about my past as a slave on Tatooine.
I was going to take him as my new padawan once he was old enough, but then I turned to the Dark Side and became Darth Vader. I went to the Jedi temple to destroy the Jedi, I killed them all Masters, padawans and younglings alike. But then I saw Darren, he had seen everything I had done but he still looked up to me the way he always had. Even though he knew that I had betrayed him he still saw me as his only friend.
"Master Skywalker, why?" He asked me.
My eyes filled with tears as I faced the true consequences of my actions. "I did it to save the woman that I love," I told the boy.
"Then take my life to save her's." He replied to me.
I moved my lightsaber to strike him, but I couldn't do it. I lowered my weapon, "I can't kill you." I told him, "flee, go back to Jakku where no one will ever find you, the Emperor will never know that I spared you."
The boy nodded before fleeing the temple to return to his birth planet." He finished.
Rey looked at him. "He was... my father?" She asked.
Anakin nodded.
"Why did you spare him?"
"Because, I felt that the Force wasn't finished with him yet, that he had a destiny. I know now that you are that destiny." He said. "The fate of the galaxy rests with you now, Rey Stargazer."
"Me? But I'm no one, what can I do to change the fate of the galaxy?" She asked.
"You're the only one powerful enough to stop Kylo Ren, but you're also the only one with a strong enough heart to save Ben. That choice and the fate of the galaxy are up to you now."
"But how do I know which path to choose?"
"The Force will guide you if you let it," He told her.
She nodded, "I will." Then she watched as he faded and she was alone again.
