Donghyuck's POV

The school day comes to an end and I'm currently walking to the address Mark sent me. My heart is beating fast and I have no idea why.

I shouldn't be so nervous. Mark and I have hung out tons of times, but, for some reason, this seems different.

As I'm lost in thought, I suddenly realize that I'm at the cafe Mark and I are supposed to meet up at. It's pretty medium sized, not way too big and not too small. There are a handful of people inside, but that's probably because it's next to the local college and college students live off of coffee and all nighters. At least I think...

Anyways, I take a deep breathe to wash away my nerves and step inside. A bell dings as I open the door, notifying the staff someone has entered.

I look around, this place is pretty homey and welcoming. There's a scent of coffee and fresh pastries in the air and I love it. There's no surprise why so many people like this place. It's quite relaxing and everyone seems to be quiet as they are doing work, reading, or quietly talking to their friends to not disturb other's peaceful environment.

I suddenly get startled by someone tapping on my shoulder. I quickly turn around and see who tapped me, I let out a sigh of relief when I see Mark, holding my hand over my chest to somehow calm myself from being scared.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." He said softly, not trying to disturb others.

I roll my eyes, trying to mask my fastly beating heart by putting on my usual sassy facade. "Well, then, why'd you do that? I almost had a heart attack, you know?!" I whisper yelled.

Mark just gave me an nervous smile. "Let's just go order...?"

"Sure."

Mark seemed to sigh in relief as I turned around and headed to the cashier.

"Hi, what would you like to order?" A girl in her early twenties asked me, her smile seemingly glued to her face. I'm not gonna lie, it kinda creeped me out.

"Okay..." I started, looking away from her creepy smiling face and to the menu behind her. "I'll have a latte and a blueberry muffin."

"Okay! That'll be five seventy seven." She said way too enthusiastically, making me cringe as I quickly gave her the money.

"Your order will be ready soon." She said with another creepy smile.

"Yeah...okay..." I said and moved out of the way so Mark could order.

As soon as Mark walked up she looked him up and down and her smile seemed to look even more sickening.

I made a disgusted face. Jesus Christ.

And as to somehow make things worse, he smiled back at her. Mark is seriously too nice or absolutely oblivious.

I almost throw up when she starts curling her hair between her fingers as she says hello to Mark in a disgustingly sweet voice.

Mark smiles at her and gives him her order. Once he finishes and pays her, I see her start to open her mouth.

"Hey, could I—"

Hell. No.

I quickly grab Mark's arm and pull him towards a table as far away from her as possible. Mark is, again, oblivious.

"Hey, wasn't she trying to say something..." Mark said looking behind him.

I roll my eyes. "Seriously, Mark."

He looks at me. "What?"

"She was going to ask for your number." I say with disgust. "Ugh, I was about to barf at how gross she was being toward you."

Mark gapes at me, shocked. "What the hell? She totally was not."

"She totally fucking was." I protest. "Mark, she literally looked at you like you were some full ass buffet."

Mark laughs. "Well, she wouldn't be wrong."

I slap him on the arm. Out of everyone in Korea— no in the world — I just had to fall in love with this one.

As the afternoon progressed, I thankfully didn't have to see that cashier lady again and our "date" went smoothly. After we left the cafe, we went to an arcade, I beat Mark at every game. And then afterwards, he walked me home as it was getting dark.

Somehow, this whole thing made me like Mark even more...
