Donghyuck's POV

Today was Wednesday — and for some reason, yesterday there was no sight of Jisung nor Chenle, but today I saw them at a bench on campus smiling and being their normal annoyingly cute selves.

Usually, I would gag at their gross PDA, but today it made me smile as they had recently had a fight. I was glad to know that they had worked everything out.

With that said, I started to walk up to the couple but surprisingly no other than the Lee Jeno appeared in front of me, blocking my path. He seemingly wanted to talk to me.

I tilted my head at him in confusion. Jeno and I weren't necessarily close, we only ever talked to each other whenever he sat with my friend group at lunch. So, I was confused at why he suddenly appeared in front of me.

"Hey, Donghyuck." Jeno waved with his signature no-eye smile. I waved back at him awkwardly.

He then clears his throat to somewhat break the awkward atmosphere after we had just stood there in silence for a few moments. "I was wondering if you could meet me after last period? Behind the school, that is. I have to tell you something."

Although the sudden request was surprising, due to my curiosity I had agreed. He then thanked me enthusiastically and walked away.

My eyes followed the retreating Jeno, still bewildered on why he wanted to meet me, before I decided to continue to walk towards the ChenSung couple.

Then, to my luck, the bell rings.

Great, now I can't brag to Jisung that my plan worked. I thought, pouting before walking inside the school so I wouldn't be late to my first class.

As the bell for lunch rung, I almost immediately jump out of my seat in order to get to the lunchroom quickly. For once, I wasn't rushing because I wanted food as quickly as possible, but that I had to tell my friends about what Jeno had requested this morning.

I had to know what they thought. If they could come up with at least some theories that could somewhat stop making me itch to know what he will tell me, then that will be amazing. I'm the type of person who must know the answer to everything I'm curious about or else it will kill me on the inside.

As expected, none of my friends were here yet so I went ahead and went in the already forming line for food. As I came back, I saw that Renjun and Jaemin were sitting at our usual table but still no Jisung or Chenle.

I came up to our table and sat across from Renjun and Jaemin. To no surprise, Renjun was resting his head onto Jaemin's shoulder and grasping onto his arm as Jaemin fed him grapes using his free arm. Jaemin, like always, was looking at Renjun as if he was the only person in the world.

I pouted. "You guys and ChenSung make me feel as if I'm the most loneliest person in the world." They both looked towards me and laughed slightly at my statement.

"Speaking of Chenle and Jisung, have you seen them?" Renjun asks as he glanced at the empty seats that usually were occupied by the two youngest.

I shook my head. "I haven't seen them since this morn—"

"Donghyuck! Donghyuck!" Chenle suddenly comes running towards our table as he drags Jisung by the hand behind him.

As he reaches the table, him and Jisung sit down before Chenle looks at me with a smug expression on his face. "I saw you and Jeno talking, what was it about, hmm?"

I roll my eyes. "Chenle, I like Mark."

Chenle laughs. "I know, I know, it's a joke. But I still want to know what you guys were talking about."

"Actually, that's what I wanted to talk to guys about." I confess, which causes our table to look at me with curiosity.

"This morning, Jeno asked if I could meet him after school." I explained. "But I have no idea why...do you guys have any ideas or maybe theories? It's literally eating me up inside."

Jaemin shrugged. "Maybe he likes you."

I shake my head vigorously at the idea. "No way."

"You never know~" Chenle sing songs.

"He might even confess to you after school." Jisung agrees.

"Nope there's definitely no way. Not at all." I then turn to Renjun as he's the only one who hasn't agreed with their completely incorrect assumption. "Right, Renjun?"

Renjun seems to think before looking at me. "Actually, he did say something about liking someone when he turned me down."

I stare at him in disbelief and he shrugs. "But I don't know, he could've been talking about someone else?"

I groan and put my head on the table. "Ugh, I swear to god if he likes me I'm going to jump off a cliff."

Chenle pokes my cheek playfully. "So dramatic."

"No, but seriously," I then suddenly lift my head off the table, causing my head and Chenle's chin to almost collide. I sent him a apologetic look and then continue. "I honestly think I wouldn't be able to turn him down."

"So you're going to accept him?" Jaemin raises an eyebrow.

"No, no, no." I quickly decline, shaking my head.

"Then what...?" Jisung asks.

"I'm going to run away from him and then avoid him for life." I say.

"Wow, amazing plan." Renjun rolls his eyes at me then the bell rings for the end of lunch.

Now, instead of not being able to wait for the end of the school day, as I walk out of the cafeteria, I'm hoping that this day goes as slow as possible.
