Jisung was walking down the hallway, trying his best to get to class as the bell had just rung. He did not want to be too late, especially since he had geometry first and his geometry teacher was not the kindest towards tardies.

Jisung thanked the gods he wasn't short since his long legs could carry him further more quickly than someone who would be shorter in height.

As Jisung turned the corner, he stopped in his tracks. Donghyuck and Jeno were talking not to far down the hallway and since Jisung is noisy, he took a few steps back in order to not be seen by the older two.

"Jeno, I think this plan is kind of working!" Donghyuck said enthusiastically.

Jeno seemed less enthusiastic. "How?"

"I think Mark is paying more attention to me!" Donghyuck says with a big smile on his face that Jeno couldn't seem to mirror.

"That's great!" Jeno says, seemingly forcing a smile.

"That means we can quit this, right?" Donghyuck asks. "I mean— not this instant of course, but soon."

"Yeah, I guess." Jeno shrugs.

Donghyuck smiles and hugs Jeno. "Thanks for helping me."

"No problem. I mean, you're helping me too..."

Donghyuck laughs as he steps away from Jeno. He gives him one last smile before he walks away. Thankfully, further away from the hiding Jisung, causing him to sigh in relief.

But that relief was short-lived as Jisung notices Jeno sigh and walk closer to him. He tenses before deciding to act like he has just arrived.

Once Jeno turns the corner, he blinks in surprise at seeing Jisung.

"Hi, Jisung." Jeno smiles, but it seems less enthusiastic than his usual care-free smile.

Jisung waves. "Hey."

"Well, I have to go to class. See you later." Jeno says as he walks around Jisung to walk down the hallway.

"Bye." Jisung says, watching Jeno turn another corner in table to get to his class.

Jisung then slowly walks to his class. His teacher's nagging the last thing on his mind as his head was full of thoughts on the conversation he had just eavesdropped on.

It was now clear to Jisung that his initial idea was right. Jeno and Donghyuck we're faking their relationship.
