Roslyn
I smile softly as James plants a sweet kiss on my cheek. "I know how to fix Julie. stay here so nobody gets suspicious. I'll see you later." He whispers in my ear before pulling away from me and exiting the building.
Jackie walks over with two cups of water for her and I.
"Where did he run off to? Coward." Jackie scoffs, taking a sip.
"He said he knows how to fix Julie. He's taking care of it while we stay here." I explain.
Jackie drops her water, causing the cool liquid to deep into both of our shoes. "What??" She shrieks. The room silences, only a few people dare to speak as they stare at the source. "Haha, sorry." She uncomfortably apologizes to the mourners before grabbing my arm and yanking me outside the building for more privacy. "So tell me again, and speak clearly," she sighs. "He said he's going to do what now?"
"He just said he's going to fix Julie and not to follow him." I repeat the simple instructions James gave me before running off.
Jackie smacks herself in the face. "I love him, I really do, but he is quite possibly the dumbest vampire on this god-given Earth. I don't think he fully realizes what he is about to do. We need to go stop him!"
Jackie takes off running. I quickly peel off my shoes and follow her.
"What is he going to do?!" I ask, trying to keep up with her super-speed. "Slow down!"
Jackie turns her head and laughs. "If I slow down, everyone dies."
"Who is everyone!?" I shake my head, trying to speed up. "What exactly is going on?"
"James is going to see a witch and trade his life for Julie's!" She shouts.
"What?! Is that all the magic stuff he was telling me about? I thought he said all of it was random." I shake my head. "All of this is so crazy to me Jack!"
Jackie stops running and faces me. "It's only random if you don't offer a sacrifice. Most witches will accept personal sacrifice as payment for the magic. One life for another." She explains the cruel reality of what James is about to do. "We need to get back to the house and get to Julie before James can get to her."
The two of us return to Jackie's house and rush to the basement where Julie is being held. We find the chains she was shackled to on the floor. "They're gone." I whisper as if it isn't already obvious what has happened.
"We are too late." Jackie continues, shaking her head defiantly.
"What are we going to do now?" I wonder out loud. I don't even know where to start looking for them. I know nothing.
"We are going to keep going. We have to. It's our only chance to save both Julie and James." Jackie sighs. "Let's go."
Author's note: what kind of trouble has James gotten himself into? Will the girls be able to get him out of it?
Also, I think the girls need a ship name / girl power duo name.
Which do you like better for them:
Team Jak•lyn or Team Ros•ie?
