No time to stay and chat

I looked up from my laptop and closed my tab as Ben came into the small kitchen area.

"Good morning."

"Morning."

"Is Katie awake yet?"

I stood up and walked over to my makeshift kitchen and pulled out a thing of orange juice.

"No she's still sleeping."

"Um you want orange juice?"

He laughed awkwardly, "Sure."

I poured him a glass and hopped up onto the counter,

"So what are we going to do about getting you guys back home?"

He looked down into his glass and shifted from one foot to the other.

"Well we uh... We were planning on you coming back with us, so I'm not sure."

"Oh..."

I closed my eyes and held my breath, I really didn't want to do this. The only person that I knew could take them home was the one person that I didn't want to see, let alone talk to.

"I'll take you to the nearby pack, that way you guys can get home safe. I know you want me to come home, but I can't right now, I'm sorry."

"I know Alexia, we understand. Thank you. Just can you at least promise that you will come back one day? When your done with whatever things you have to get through?"

I smiled weakly, "I promise. I need to meet my family at some point right?"

He smiled back, "Yeah I guess so haha."

I hopped down, "I'll go make a call, you and Katie can leave once she wakes up and you guys are ready. Feel free to use the shower or make your self something to eat, theres plenty in the fridge."

"Okay, thanks."

I walked down the hall and went down stairs. The lights flickered on as my feet hit the last stair, and I dreaded making that phone call even more now. I sat down at my desk and picked up my phone, scrolling through my contacts and stopping at the letter J.

Jace.

I held my breath as I presses call.

He picked up the phone and his breathing was heavy, but he didn't say anything.

I closed my eyes and my wolf purred at the sound, I sighed and opened my eyes. Shit. I just sighed, into the phone.

"L-Lexi?"

"H-hi... Umm I know your probably mad at me but I need a favor. And I also need you to promise that you won't track this call or try to make me stay."

"O-okay... I promise, I will do anything for you."

My heart fluttered and I bit my lip, STAY FOCUSED DAMNIT.

"Um I need you to bring two people back to their home, I can't let them go by themselves. I will bring them with me to meet you at Charlotte's house. I'll uh text what time soon."

"Okay, Alexia?"

"Yeah?"

"Promise me something. Promise that when I get there you will be there, and you won't leave me. There are things that I need to tell you, and I just want you to listen."

A tear slid down my cheek, it was killing me, I wanted him so bad.

"I promise."

He sighed, "I will see you soon."
